I really couldn't care less if my vacuum is the newest model, or even a nice colour. I just care about reliability, as in that it will turn on and work every day when I need it for 30 or more years. Even if a vacuum only removes a majority of the dirt in the carpet it will eventually, if used every day or two, clean pretty much ALL the dirt from the carpet.

Sounds like a SEBO or Henry would be right up your ally.

I have 2 sebos and a henry. I usually use one of my 13 Electrolux machines, my 8 Kirbys, or my 5 Tellus machines. I like my Electrolux D338 and my Kirby G5 the best though.

I've clarified that post you cited twice was directed at an external source. And RE the first two sentences: no. That was clearly observed and not an insult. That you interpreted a statement of an observation as an insult in fact is highly revealing about the situation. And I agree with you: it doesn't look good when someone mocks and rejects an educational opportunity.

You have failed to provide a single example of a personally directed insult to another member as you claimed. I don't think you understand what an insult is and are showing severe hypersensitivity in lieu of an argument or position, or falling victim to assuming criticism of an idea is the same as criticism of the person who holds the idea. Let me give you some examples of what directed insults of the nature you're struggling to evidence actually look like: 1, 2. I guess you're OK with them, though.

Seeing how 'you' are replying to 'me' in the below post, regarding 'me' posting someone else's video, where 'I' use 'their' video to demonstrate the exact issue that "I" experience with a V15 (which "I" have explained to 'you' multiple times).

May I remind 'you' (again...) that 'you' asked 'me' for the specifics in 'your' preceding post, so "I" provided them to 'you.'

OK, too vague to comment so I'll ignore that one.

a) This is a failure of understanding. The user lacks the knowledge and seemingly the intelligence that with strong suction on high resistance carpets, head pressure drops, increasing clamping force. The solution is to directly reduce suction pressure by lowering the motor power, or to allow in bleed relief air (more airflow) via the gates to reduce suction pressure to nearer normal levels. As explained in the lecture, this also doesn't impair cleaning performance. So this was a demonstration of incredible ignorance more than anything.
b) Again, user stupidity. If you're dumb enough to put so much dirt down that it's clearly visible to the naked eye and then briefly go over it once—even lifting it off the floor surreptitiously on the backwards pull in a dodgy manner you'd only expect the most repulsive charlatans to, it's not surprising it left stuff behind. This was a wonderful example of the kind of BS I criticise out there. Poor testing, deeply flawed, unquantified, doesn't capture trends, easy to trick people, unconvincing to the educated and intelligent.

If this is what you're using to justify I'm in the wrong somehow, then that's wonderful for us all to see, since it clearly exonerates me from a false charge. Thanks for the future reference link at least.

You've been asked repeatedly to provide a simple, clear example of your very specific accusation that I have personally insulted members. You have failed, repeatedly. Instead, you've obfuscated, deflected, and given us your interpretation of discussions reflecting only what you wanted to see, which tells us about you, not me. Then you ignored clear examples of personal insults directed towards me here, of a nature that is exactly what you needed to provide, which was very hypocritical. This now looks more like you have falsely accused people of wrongdoing, which is pretty insulting. Nothing else to be said. Your post here is a perfect example of you insulting others here. Go read this and ask yourself if this is how you would wish to be treated by someone else. This post is highly insulting and arrogant. You come across to us as if you know everything and nobody else here, regardless of their experience in the vacuum industry, knows anything. There are people here who have had hands on with vacuums even before your parents were born. People who have worked in and owned vacuum shops for decades. Even a few here who worked in actual vacuum manufacturers like Dysonman for example. They have vast experience, much more than you but you dismiss everything any one else says as somehow uninformed. As a young person with limited experience you need to show a little humility and a willingness to listen and learn from the older and more experienced members of this site. And as someone who made a career in the weapons RDT&E world you need to learn to temper your ardor for theory with some real world field experience. Like I have said before I have seen plenty of trick looking advanced weapons with reams of science and terabytes of equations behind them fail miserably in the field when we gave them to the Marines or sailors to break. Or they were uneconomical to produce. That happens too.

Patriot, Miracle Mate and the Metrovac Evolution fit that description too. An old Tristar DXL using the better of the two Miracle Mate hoses with the Plastiflex handle will let you use any central vacuum power nozzle with it. A DXL. M-M hose and Sebo or Lindhaus central vacuum power nozzle would be a lifetime vacuum you would pass to your heirs.

Here is one of my EX-30s from Japan converted to a 120 volt motor set up with a Miracle Mate hose and Sebo ET350e. This is a true lifetime vacuum.

If you look off to the right of the tree you can see a little butterscotch colored 100 volt transformer I use with my Japanese vacuums. I have these around the house.

I have a wide range of vintage vacuums and I use them to vacuum the concrete pad (when I lose my mind on a Dyson and I want to scrap it for the small amount of metal inside) and have to suck up bits of plastic. I use it in a courtyard, a shed and a school too. I have seen other kids throw it about 4 metres on to a concrete floor. And overfilling a Dyso is abuse?
