Here are two photo's of how we buff up dysons bins to look like new,

I start with a heavy buffing soap and a thinner stitched cloth buffing wheel and end using brasso and a non stiched buffing wheel.

This is a customers dc11 I was bufffing at the cleaning table in my workshop

In the picture with the over weight dud in it ( me ) I'm using my numatic straight drill and soft buffing wheel

this is the end result , I didn't take a puc of the machine before but it was used to cleanup cement dust and bits after the customer had done some building , you couldn't even see through it at all.

It was one of the most scratched bins I have ever had to do

On the left of the machine is the large stiched buffing wheel I normaly use and a smaller one I used due to the bins smaller id

That's a great job. The customer will think you're giving them a new one.

she was so happy she shriecked, she thought her baby was damaged forever, this is what every dyson that leaves our shop after repair or service looks like.

The dc11 was supposedly a commercial flop but as yet every customer who has brought one to us is willing to spend any thing to get it working.

Its the one dyson that I don't have and the one I want the most apart from the new dc41

That looks great! Will bear that in mind if I get any in for refurb soon. I'd given Brasso a try before but just hand polishing, had very little effect on the clear bin without a buffing wheel.

I had a DC11 for a short time, was a nice cleaner. Would be a good one to add to the collection! I found the Telescope handle a little heavy and ungainly using the small tools, though it was comfortable for vacuuming floors with the turbine head. Think the newer telescopic tubes are a big improvement.

dyson telescopic tubes

Hi Rob

I prefer the telescopic tubes found on the dc08 tw and dc20 machines withtheir aloy parts , I don't like the design of the new plastic ones, but thats just me.

The dc11 had a really complicated telescopic tube and you are right its really heavy tooI also don't think many people wrap it up like your supposed to , to much of a mission to get it off. I do like the machine though it just looks cool.
