Question on Hoover floor tools?

I noticed that Hoover used two floor tools during the 1970s on the Slimline cleaners and perhaps others.

Was one for more deluxe Slimlines or is it just a newer version? Was this also the case with the Constellation?

The smaller tool in the first photo

came later. It replaced the 'bigger one'. That smaller one also was then used on Handivacs, usually white or blue, depending. There were actually 4 variations of it, I believe. The first, big bulky one was on early Constellations, then the 'big one', found of Portables, Connies, etc, then, they flattened and scalloped the finish on the last of the Portables, renamed cleaning systems. THey'd sell those, too, as replacements. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Yes I have that smaller tool on my stick vac. And I saw the later flatter squarer tool on the Cleaning Centers in later years. I think it came on Celebrity and early Spirit canisters too.
