I called Aerus today to see if it is possible to get a tour of the factory. The lady on the phone didn't think so but suggested I send an email to customer service since the employees who could make that call were off the day after Christmas. While I had her on the phone I asked "oh, you do still make vacuums there I hope" and she said "oh yes". Now to see if I get a positive reply to my email next week. Sounds interesting! I would imagine that the Classic and Legacy are the models still produced in Bristol. I would imagine that they might finish the Guardian in Bristol as well. I’m not sure if they are still producing uprights.
I only have one Aerus vacuum in my collection, they do not seem to be too common. They were only sold through dealers right?
The Guradian Platinum is made by Lux International, I think.
It's made by a Slovenian company called Kolektor d.d. I have read variously the factory where they are produced may be in Switzerland, the Czech Republic or Slovenia. It was designed by a German designer and a German electrical engineer who had never before designed a vacuum. Lots of coffee makers and such by no prior experience making vacuums and it shows. Beautiful but fragile compared to the Swedish made Luxes that preceded the Intelligence.
Lux International in the EU is owned by Eureka Forbes of India and the Intelligence is sold in India as the Eureka Forbes Euroclean Xtreme.
Based on what an Aerus dealer told me from his visit there the Bristol plant assembles Classic and Legacy canisters, and boxes up Guardian Platinums with the US style wands, hose, attachments and power nozzle. The G-Ps arrive in a big crate and are put into the boxes with the rest of the items they come with and seal them up.
The traditional Heavy Duty uprights are manufactured in China. Aerus has some sort of relationship with Nationwide Sales in New York co-producing their Heavy Duty upright for sale by Perfect and by Pro Team at a facility in China. The Lite and Lite Cordless are made for Aerus by Tacony.
Nationwide Sales also has a relationship with Aerus that allows them to produce the Electrolux Ambassador look alikes for Clean Obsessed and Perfect.
I was just watching very recently the DVD that the vacuum club made on our visit to the Electrolux factory in Bristol. They were extremely welcoming, we had a great time, and I talked to them out of a very unique Electrolux for the club. They served us lunch and were exceptional hosts. We got to see all of the vintage models from the US and Canada, and even got to see the power nozzle PN – three. Which was never released in the US. Good times the cleaning competition at the club convention that year was awesome. Every club member was asked to bring their favorite Electrolux to the factory, we lined them all up, and had our pictures made with the entire lineup as well as the upper management of the factory. I was given some very rare and unique owners manuals at that time by the upper management of Electrolux. For example, I had never seen all three of the Electrolux commercial automatic model CA owners books. Now I own all three.

Many people who were part of the vacuum cleaner collectors club, where our club went to the Electrolux factory, more than likely still have a copy of the DVD. The original was shot on many videotapes and edited down to a one and 1/2 hour DVD. I wonder if it would be possible to put the entire hour and a half convention up on YouTube for everyone to see? I'm sure the VCCC has a copy of the DVD in their archives. It was the 1999 convention.

I initially questioned where Aerus Lux products were "built", but you answered that months ago through your dealer friend's recent visit when he watched the assembly line at Bristol. My speculation involved the "manufacturing" of the Aerus Lux components based on evidence I shared with you in another thread.
I called the company, AP Sciences, myself to find out if Aerus Lux products are both manufactured AND "built"/"made" at the company's Bristol factory and was told that they are ONLY ASSEMBLED (BUILT) there; but NOT manufactured there.

I would imagine where the actual parts are formed and molded is a secret they do not just give out to people at the whim of whoever asks.
You need a paid account to use it to see bill of laden documents, but if you poke around on this website you might be able to figure out where the parts are made/coming from. Each imported item has a description of contents. Probably can find something saying "plastic molded housing" or something like that and match it to dates and times aligning with just before their newest model vacuums came to market.
