There are two variations! The DC40 multifloor, and the DC41 animal. They are on the NEXT website and available from the 20th of Jan.

I dont know the exact differences between the models, apart from colour and that the animal is £40 more! There is some info on the NEXT page but it is too small to read on my phone.

But I will call Dyson and see what info they have as there website hasn't been updated yet.
 
£399?

At those prices, I don't imagine that there will be many buyers. Even the Miele S7 looks better value.
 
they will sell no matter what they cost because they are fashion items i went to the tip today there were no less than 14 dysons all in a row i couldent help but think they looked quite at home
 
Hear Hear Chris!

Dysons are over priced and not worth it.

Get yourself a good bagged machine for less than half the price and it'll pay off in the long run.
 
I wouldn't of thought so, I don't like bags! I have a Miele s7 at the moment, it's cleans great! But the bags are way over priced so it's going to a new home..
 
Not to mention the mess of having to empty the thing and wash the filters out.
Bag in bin. Done. No mess. And lets not even start on the shoddy quality of it.

I love them, I have been using them for the past 18 years. I get that you guys don't, that fine. It's your opinion. Bags are not for me.

When new products are released from any company, bagged or bagless I want to try them. But always end up returning back to dyson as my DD.

For me they are more convienient. That's right, I called a dyson convienient. Cleaning up after 3 dogs and a cat can cost a small fortune in bags.

There customer service is excellent. The filters are washable. I like to see what I've picked up, from a supposedly clean floor. I find the attachments fast and efficient.

I used to clean two clinics and 15 houses a week. Dyson always has and continues to worked damn hard for me.

Just saying.
 
you dont half to throw away/replace the filters

the filters are resuable on the older modles it's every 6 months that you half to wash them on the newer matchiens it's every 3 months. yeah i`m only 12 so what.
 
After washing them a few times they require replacement to keep the suction levels high.

I just changed the bag on my '94 HOOVER Turbopower and it reminded me how much I prefer Bagged machines.

Pull bag off, throw in bin, new bag in - Done!

No dust flying around, no filters to wash, and it took literally less than 30 seconds.
 
Oh, and I've got a 2004 Panasonic MC-E8011 Twin Cyclonic Bagless which gets clogged very quickly and the filters lose suction with every time they are washed.
 
Really rubbish!! There is only one separation system in them. And a naff one at that. If you ever can get your hands on a dyson or one is being given away. Try one.

They are a good machine. If you prefer bags you probably still will after. But at least you will be able to make your own opinion of them.

Whatever anyone thinks about Dyson, the is the most factual thing I have read on this thread. Nothing can do what does. Nothing does do what Dyson does. And that is all that can be said for a fact.

The quality of the Dysons is questionable, but they do work well as a vacuum cleaner. As does the principle of not needing a dust bag.

Do I like them? Do I not like them? I am not telling you :)

But what I will say is that I have used plenty of them and base my opinions on my own experiences and not simply other peoples 'stories'.

If they were so drastically 'over priced' then they would never sell. The fact that it comes with such a long guarentee puts a very different slant on the price. You could expect to pay up to £100 for that on it's own. It's all a matter of opinion and choice.

You really have no right to put down a brand that you have never even used. He likes Dysons, lots of people do. I love all of mine. Most of your info is false anyways. Just because you don't like a bagless machine does not mean that everyone else feels the same way... And even if you would have to replace the filters, it is absolutely no different than buying bags for a bagged vacuum. You have your opinion, he has his.
 
I'd far rather spend money on new bags and have an easier and less dusty time changing them than spending the same amount of money on filters and getting covered in dust every time I had to empty the bin.

If you check my thread on which is better - Bagged or Bagless, you'll see a lot more people prefer Bagged.
 
Oh, and even if they were very good (which they may well be), £400 is just too much.

I'd far rather go for a brand new bagged machine at £100 which would be just as reliable, and by the time I'd made up the difference in buying bags, I'd be a very old man.
 
I'm in agreement with the guys above - if you haven't used one, I don't think that gives you any right to judge.

I've used loads. I've owned a few. My Grandparents have owned a DC01, DC04, DC15 and a DC27. I've had a DC01 and a DC04. My best friend has had a DC05 and a DC08. None of them have impressed me. They were all very average cleaners and far too overpriced. None of the lasted particularly long and all of them had the issues I always find with Dysons
 
That's as maybe, but you can't offer your own opinion on how they function until you've used one.

I have heard lots of complaints about Dyson. A lot of those people have still gone on to buy a 2nd, 3rd, or more Dyson cleaner. Mainly because overall, they consider them to be the best avaliable today.

Of all the complaints, never did I hear anyone say they were dissatisfied with the pick-up performance. Nor did anyone say that emptying them was messy. The models where the dust box has to be split in half are more difficult than those with a trap-door, but it's no big deal. Unlike other non-Dyson machines, where a face full of dust is part and parcel of the deal.
 
Jmurray, my last message was for you.

As is this one. What can you get for £100 which is hald decent, apart from a Numatic? Very little. The £400 price tag is the full-whack price. The price will vary and will stabilise at under £300 shortly. It always does. £400 is only 'too much' to those who think it is too much. To those who seem to like the Dyson and the guarentee, it is acceptable.
 
I have always thought the Dc01s where one of the nicest machines dyson ever made, i loved how they emptied aswell.
To be honest, evan when taking out bags for bagged cleaners you still get that little puff of dirt from the bag.
 
Actually, correction, I do have a first hand story about a Dyson, if you'd care to hear it.

Back years ago in the primary school I went to they had a Dyson DC01, which I did use a few times, and I know why it died.

When in use, it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't better than a bagged machine, which makes it even, until you hear the demise of it.

One day, with clean filters and an empty bin, it stopped picking up, even though there were no blockages and the belt was good.

Turned out the motor had failed and in the bin it went.

I've no experience with more modern models, and yes, that doesn't mean I can judge them all from one experience with a DC01, but still, that is my views.
 
Dc41 arrived today!

I have been testing it, everywhere. I took it on to a friends house you have a REALLY deep pile shag carpet in there front room and the dust it removed was outstanding! And the filter was still snow white!

I think me and dyson will be having a busy day tomorrow!

The brushroll is slightly different to the USA model, and maybe the colour of the cyclones but these are the only differences I have noticed.

Really happy with the machine!

The only thing that I don't like is where te exhaust port is in the cyclone unit.. I guess you can have it all! Haha :D
