Joe, I completely agree and well said! But there's a limit as to how much people can take.
This thread is a prime example of MadAboutHoover's behaviour on this forum. Here, has made a very missinformed, uneducated assumption regarding the new low wattage vacuums that are about to hit the market based on his own political beliefs regarding the current UK pro/anti EU debate and not based on the cleaners themselves. He is also encouranging panic-buying high wattage cleaners.
When challenged on his view (and I don't think I was rude in doing so at all, at least it wasn't intended to be), he could offer no evidence to support his view or indeed any statement to back up his point, instead he resorted to turning this conversation into a rant against a Facebook group. At no point was there any "deliberate attempt to start an argument", I was challenging the views of another vacuum enthusiast, because I thought he was wrong - isn't that pretty much what happens in every thread?
Instead of blocking me and slagging of Nar, if Steve had been willing to contribute to some sort of discussion to establish how he has reached the view he has, this entire thread would never have happened, beyond about 3 posts.
This is just the latest in a long line of rubbish from the fingers of MadAboutHoovers. I can't think of anyone he hasn't pissed off. He talks about being belittled, and yet all he's done since joining VL is force his opinion on others, shouting the odds, making inappropriate comments, belittling the views of anyone who doesn't agree with him (regardless of who they are), name calling and starting petty arguments. Not to mention the constant post-editing in a desperate attempt to make himself look victimised. I can think of at least 4 people that screenshot his posts incase he edits them.
It's all getting a little bit ridiculous.
And since Steve has decided to go off on one yet again about the Facebook group, I'd like to point out a few facts:
- It isn't Rob's group. He is 1 of 3 moderators on it.
- A LOT of UK members here are on it - myself, Nar, Rob, Beko1987, Ry_Ry87, sensotronic, SeamusUK, Andy-Lux and indeed Joe (suctior) are all members, plus many others.
- there is absolutely NO vendetta for "poaching" members from here. 80% of members on the Facebook group are on and post on both sites.
- the Facebook group mostly exists between UK members that all know eachother and we use it mostly to arrange meets and trade/buy/rehome vacuums than anything else. There is a natural banter that goes with that.
