Argos has now started to bring in the new Winter 2014/15 range, which always happens about a month before the new catalogue launch. They always add them to the website at a much higher price for a month, so that they can claim "half price" when it goes to print in the new catalogue. At present, 4 new lines have been added, which are essentially old machines with low wattage motors, and most of these claim to be A graded energy efficient, which, although Argos no longer have to give motor wattages, means that these will all have approximately 700W or less motors. Will be interesting to see how poor the resulting suction will be, seeing as these are all old designs that previously had much higher wattage motor in them. Notice how they display the grades for pickup, energy and dust emissions in the specs. But do not give the power of the machine - which as I said, they don't have to do now. Bit of a con really, as the item has to display its power input, but retailers don't have to advertise it - this is the new law.
Keep watching Argos over the next few weeks as more machines will be added, usually at higher prices than they will normally be. This is only done to satisfy trading standards that they are genuinely "half price" or "£75 OFF".
Go into Vacuum Cleaners, and in the Filters on the left of the page, select those with Energy Rating A - at present there are only 4, but this will rise as they come online. The website is VERY temperamental and seems to work best on Firefox, as IE11 doesn't always show the new machines unless you use the filters, and sometimes Firefox and IE doesn't even show the Energy rating filter, until you go onto the second page of results, ordered on price. If it displays 160 machines found, then it wont show the new machines. If it shows 164 machines found, then you will see the new machines. I cannot understand why the site is always so dodgy.
