No more corded vacuums to be developed said Mr Dyson a couple of weeks ago, but here we have a new(ish) model for the UK. Seems similar to the Light Ball but with a new articulated joint on the hose handle and a carbon fibre turbine to clean under furniture.

This could be the replacement for the Big Ball Cinetic which is now discontinuued in the UK due to the latest EU requirements.

Wow!

That looks sweet. The new handle should be good.

I noticed the machine’s proportions appear different. Either the whole thing is taller, or it is skinnier. It’s hard to tell. But you can definitely see the difference when you compare the bin and spine of that new one to the current Ball Animal 2 available in the US.

I truly hope Dyson actually does continue to develop corded models.

Thanks for sharing!

I’m assuming that Dyson has a few more corded Uprights and maybe a new Canister/Cylinder vacuum to release that have already been developed but not yet launched.

I’m hoping for something similar to this one for the USA, but if not, I am perfectly happy with my Dyson Ball Animal 2 in purple and my Dyson Small Ball Multi Floor in yellow. But I sure love the design of the pivoting hose on this one, it looks like the wand handle on the Cinetic Ball Canister (See Pic 1). The brushroll, I’m not so fond of as the USA brushrolls usually are different.

I have a feeling we will most likely see at least one or two new design uprights as I’m sure the Dyson teams been hard at work designing new corded machines, way before Sir James said he wasn’t doing anymore corded research designs.

This one is interesting.. but another thing I’m not fond of the colors.. yellow red and purple?? Kinda clownish for my taste. LOL

Thanks for sharing, love to see new vacuums.. even when we in the USA cannot have them. 😔☹️

Looks great!

The new hose and wand setup look great. I like that they returned to a setup where the handle grip releases along with the wand, and the new swivel joint looks nifty.

When the @#$% are they going to incorporate the self-cleaning shroud into their uprights? They're such a huge improvement!

Hope the US sees something like this soon! Maybe we'll get the spoiled treatment again, where our version cleans carpeting slightly better.

I've ordered one and it should be arriving Tuesday. I may put it on that Youtube thing so everyone can get a closer look at it. I think corded vacuums will be around for quite a few more years yet.

To be fair to Sir James he did say they won't be developing any new corded models

This model would have been developed before he made this statement.

Nice to see a pivoting wand and they include a turbo brush but it doesn't look like a huge improvement to the light ball.

Somebody posted on Vacuumland a while ago drawings that showed a Dyson upright with the articulated joint, so it would have been in development a while. I seem to remember an upright with the self cleaning shroud being pictured too.

I wish they had included the self cleaning shrowd. That would have been a very good addition.

The Shark powered lift away function still tops the Dyson in this area.

@ HonestJoe68

I don't know if the USA market and the UK market get the same colors, but Dyson's UK models often have some yucky color palette. I do rather like the green and purple one though.

I like the colors.

Although there’s no rhyme or reason to the color scheme of this new model, I still think it looks good.

With the red + purple + yellow, it kind of reminds my of a Dyson De Stijl.

What do you think of your V10 Matt?

The new Dyson is basically a light ball with a pivoting wand and a wacky colour scheme 😁

I've stuck a thread up about the V10 Vacfan1982.

As for the new upright being a tarted up Light Ball I know... But I like the look of the new wand / handle design and also the fact it comes with a larger turbo brush for cleaning under beds etc. I also really like the new colour scheme on it with the red hose and red lines about the ball.

The V10 and new upright will be replacing my Felix I think

"reminds my of a Dyson De Stijl..."

Exactly. That thought crossed my mind too.

It doesn't look a bad machine.

I wonder if the "skinny" design as in the side-on picture is real, or perhaps 'artistic licence' has been employed by the marketing department (i.e. by stretching the photo)?

I didn't realise it has a metal wand. That is a good move.😊

You will have a good combo there.

I do enjoy using my V8 it makes vacuuming so more easy and convenient. I will get a V10 at some point.

Does this new upright have storage for small tools? I don't see any stored on the machine in the Very.co.uk pics.
