"I believe it might even give the Miele C2 a run for its money at this price point."
Are you serious?! I think the Miele C2 Electro + for $599 would kill the ZeroG company's sales. Let's see the pros & cons here....
+ Hovers on air, no wheels.
+ HEPA Cloth bags with a tab to seal before removal.
+ High quality powerhead with good edge cleaning capabilities, which can be a pet peeve for some consumers.
+ High quality universal 32mm attachments, with the option to buy other universal attachments later without using an adapter.
+ Mini powerhead, not turbobrush, for cleaning stairs, upholstery & removing pet hair.
- MADE IN CHINA with Chinese motor & parts, vs MADE IN GERMANY with German motor & parts. This will be a HUGE factor for some consumers, especially at the price ZeroG wants for this vacuum.
- No HEPA Filter in a Sealed System. HUGE FLAW!!! What were they thinking not putting a HEPA Filter in a high end vacuum?!?! Any allergy sufferer or anyone worried about indoor air quality will immediately dismiss this vacuum for that reason alone.
- No variable speed control, & no bleeder valve on the hose to reduce airflow for certain cleaning tasks. NOT a good idea to ask hundreds for a high end canister vacuum & not have that feature!
- No cord rewinder, & no way to wrap the cord around the canister or on cord hooks. Instead, they just show how to bundle the cord up & use a cord strap to tie it up & tuck under the handle. Again, REALLY SMART IDEA going ahead & making a high end canister, ask hundreds of dollars for it & no nice way to store the cord!!!
- No onboard tool storage, except possibly to use a tool caddy. Really?!?! Even the Miele C1 & C2 canisters have a tool caddy mounted on the hose so it doesn't get in the way when vacuuming & using the wand. Really dumb idea to not think of that on a high end canister vacuum!
- Inferior quality, expensive bags. The ZeroG bags are 5 layer HEPA Cloth, vs the Miele AirClean bags being 9 layer HEPA Cloth that don't allow the vacuum to lose suction till 3/4 full. Plus the bag cost is nearly the same for both machines.
- No direct connect hose at the machine end to canister. Yes, with Miele C2 you have to plug in a powerhead cord like the ZeroG makes you do, but it's unacceptable on BOTH machines considering there's other Chinese canister vacuums, like the Cirrus & Vapamore Vento canisters, that cost 1/2 of these machines & has this feature & even MORE as standard.
I think if ZeroG wants to have ANY chance succeeding in the marketplace, they had better get ZeroG 2.0 on the drawing board ASAP! Right now, as it stands, this is another vacuum with a innovative idea but poorly executed. They should have done their market research & product planning a bit better than this considering their closest competitor is a German brand who has driven many competitors out of the marketplace & sent them packing back home.
