Sebo or Miele?

So it's gonna be a while before I get one but I'm moving to a two story house soon and just for the fun of it I'm looking into high end canister to complement my daily drivers... the Kirby G4 and Diamond Edition.
Never owned a canisterr outside of Shop-Vac and Kirby's mode so I want that premium canister experience similar to Kirby's upright experience.

I've done some research and torn between the C3 and the Airbelts (Full sized and smaller I don't know if there's a preference difference) and I definitely want a power head.

In y'all's opinion which would you say deep cleans the best compared to my Kirbys, which has the best overall bag system (from what I've seen the C3 does) and has best reliability (from what I've seen Sebo does) and overall which power heads you like better.

I highly respect both brands and ideally I would get both which I will eventually but just want suggestions. Again used uprights my entire life so this would be a great experience

Good idea top have a vac for upstairs. Kirby's are heavy. Both German makes are good, quiet machines. Bags and filters not cheap though. I think Sebo has the better power nozzles.

When it comes to performance and filtration, Miele is better. But everything else, SEBO has the upper hand. Personally, I don't think it's worth spending on any of the high end canisters, the C3 or D4. For Miele, I'd recommend the C1 Classic. For SEBO, I'd recommend either the K3 or E3. Unless if you still really wanted either a C3 or D4, it's better off to get one from the second hand market. Otherwise for that kind of money, I'd rather have a central vac installed where not only I like using it better but you can fit either SEBO or Wessel Werk powerhead on. With SEBO or Miele, you can't really retrofit either nozzle.

I recently went thru the same debate and ended up with a Sebo. For these reasons:

-Dealer proximity: Sebo about 20min away, nearest Miele dealer is ~90min away. Obviously this will be different for you and maybe not a factor at all.

-Bag opening/resetting when opening the bin: Mieles you have to “reset” the bag mouth every time you open the bin. If you forget to, you’ll have a mess. Not an issue on Sebo.

-Less reported issues on Sebo Units, per Reddit etc. (this is not scientific data by any means)

-Cost of consumables

I would have to say Sebo as I have had problems and annoyances with my Mieles. This is from the owner of 5 Mieles and 3 Sebos. The ET-1 is terrific, though we don't get power nozzle Mieles over here. The Miele bag system is far worse. Much more fiddly. They also hate any non-genuine bags with a passion. Reliability problems are far more common with Miele. Get the Sebo K3. Also, vacuum into rooms, not out of them.

I think Miele has the better cleaning powerhead but for longevity and the cost of consumables I'd choose a Sebo. As for which model. I'd go with either the D or E series. Their airflow is about the same as one another but if memory serves I got more suction from the E3 due to a, i am assuming, smaller or less sensitive suction relief.

Miele lacks the high quality they once had. Their telescopic wands suffer broken latches and have internal electrical problems. The cord reels are fragile and the swivel contacts on their hoses get dirty and develop dead spots. The bag dock is dodgy and on mine sometimes starts to eject the bag if I close the lid too slowly ( trying to be gentle ) so you always have to check down the hose opening to make sure the bag opening is centered and seated. No matter what I do, and I always use genuine Miele brand bags, the underside of the lid gets dirty because the little spring loaded flap in the bag collar is always pushing up against the spout in the bag compartment lid. I wipe it down but after a couple of bag fulls it is dirty again. Kludge. Their hoses are short, stiff and like to either kink or flip the canister over. They are so much of a wrestling match for my wife she won't use either Miele I have.
Sebo has a nice long easy to manage hose, the hose swivels don't get dirty and loose contact and the bags seat reliably in their dock. You can get filtration equal to Miele with the E or D models. Miele has really small cheap attachments while Sebo has beautiful attachments. The Sebo dusting brush is one of the best in the industry. Sebo ET-1 power nozzles are much better than any from Miele. None of the four Miele brand power nozzle I have can adequately clean the pet hair from two of our area rugs but the ET-1 cleans them thoroughly in one or two passes. Sebo materials and build quality are vastly better than Miele. Sebo's telescopic wand is a thing of beauty and utterly reliable.
