Picked this up at a garage sale... I'm 41 and not a big collector, but I've never seen one like this, though I admit, I hadn't been looking, haha!

Indeed a very early shop vac. I would guess 1960s. I saw a similar but dark green one in a thrift store a few months ago. These were dry pickup machines and would have a large diameter hose. Shop Vac later moved its headquarters to PA where it is now.

Shop-Vac

Probably late 60s,early 70s.Shop type vacs entered the household market in the 60s led by Delta and Craftsman dust collectors for the home workshop. The 'flat top' is dry pickup only. The wet pickup motor was raised. Before these it was typical for the old house vac to be moved to garage and basesment when a replacement was bought.Yours is somewhat plain next to later cans that were almost pop art such as my red/white/blue Penncrest bicentennial that I actualy found on the 4th of July.

red/white/blue

I would like to post picture.First is it upstairs or attic or warehouse?Second,I have to stop and service a Eureka & Kirby & Bissell. So maybe I will have pics by July 4th.But by then maybe it will be beside RWB Sears & Bicentennial Hoover!
