Questions about a Electro Hygiene Model 230

Hi guys, I am onto my second vintage vac, this one is a Electro Hygiene Model 230. A friend sold this to me and it works like new. All original, it is one of my favorites. The bag is flawless too. Could anybody please tell me more about this model and what year. I'm guessing 1920's, but please specify a year. And are these models rare at all. Thanks for you help guys.

Electro-Hygiene 230

Hi Jon, that is a beautiful 230 you have there! It is one of my favorites, too! Actually, any model of Electro-Hygiene is one of my favorites! The 230 is actually much newer than you think. It was the last straight suction model Electro-Hygiene and was made from 1945 to 1954, when it was replaced by the revolving brush model 285. It was labeled 2-230 the last year or two of production and I have no idea why, as there is no difference between the 230 and 2-230 that I can see, other than the bag on my 2-230 is blue instead of black.
I wouldn't exactly say the 230 is rare, but they aren't exactly a dine a dozen either. Do you have attachments with yours? I have a set with mine, but am missing the wands, floor brush, and crevice tool. Where in Ohio are you? Hopefully you can join us for one of our mini-meets sometime. Congrats on a great find,
