hanging around

Certainly can do some pictures for you. The rear of the 77 is identical to the 64, and yes both have hanging brackets. In fact, externally both machines appear to me to be identical, aside from the colour scheme, the handle and the gliders. Actually it does not sound like there is much left to be identical LOLOL

Interestingly the rating plate for both these machines is at the front end up by the hanging bracket, whilst as far as I am aware mots other models have it towards the back.

Like the other budget models (48/60/87) they are Electrux on the rating plate rather than Electrolux, although of course the cleaners bear the full name.

As you know i have a z65 Challenge i found it on a skip and run it as the house vac for about 10 years but never knew until i saw thi literature that they had done a 64 challenge.... anyone got one?..... by the way ny Nan had the z48 ... 1951-1978

Miss Picky strikes again ....

1951-1978????????????????

Sorry, could not resist that at all :) It was 1951 to 1956, when it was replaced by the virtually identical 60. I have a 60, but no tools although they appear to have been similar to the 55 tools. i have a 48 manual scanned if you are interesed.

The 64 is rare (can only recall seeing two in 8 years of ebaying, and I bought one of them) a Challenge 64 even more rare - you are very lucky to have the Challenge 65.

I also have the predecessor model to the 48, the 116. This holds a special place in my collection as it was the first cleaner I ever collected - thats rare too ...

Skippy

It great when you can get somthing out of a skip thats both in good order and runs well. My second collected cleaner was a Junior 119 left out for the bin men. In fair condition and still ith moulded plug, it stil runs well. All it needed was a replacement bag, which it now has - an original 119 bag. My most recent "find" was a grey hardbag Turbomaster chucked out by the office next to mine when they were closing down - harly a mark on it and running well too. Maybe I am just plain mean ......

Lux 116

This is the only photo I have of of it, I will have to take some more soon. Although it is not clear on the photo it has a toggle switch, the only time I have seen one on an electrolux, apart from a model XI, the rest have been "sliding bar" or push button
