Well, the rare Johnson-Wax polisher that I won on eBay arrived today. (See my earlier post entitled ]
Oh Dear God, please don't let it be broken!
Oh Dear God, pleeeease don't let it be broken!
Oh Dear God, pleeeeeeeease don't let it be broken!
I was very worried when I saw the top of the handle grip sticking out bare.
Oh Dear God, pleeeeeeeease don't let it be broken!
Well, the brittle plastic handle made it safe and sound, so hopefully the rest of it is okay as well. Oh Dear God, pleeeeeeeeeeeease don't let it be broken!

Ohhhhh thank you Dear God!!!
Ohhhhhhhhhhh THANK YOU Dear God!!!
One very tiny disappointment -- it's not the model I thought it was. In the listing photos it appears to be metallic dark blue; however, it's actually a dark turquoise. It's darker in color than my similar 'standard' model, but not the still-elusive metallic dark blue model I'm still hoping someday to find.
The handle grip and rubber bumper are gray instead of white, and it has a heavy-duty black cord which I am sure is original because it's got the same exact plug as my other JW polishers, and the cord's outer jacket is the same ribbed vinyl.
It's a model RP-59 btw. "59" designates the year, 1959. I'm not sure what "RP" stands for. "HP" on the other models indicates "Household Polisher." The first turquoise model is an HP-54. I'll have to ask my buddy who used to work for Johnson Wax about it.
Here's the HP-54 for comparison.
Showing the reduction gear system which creates excellent, very powerful torque. Furthermore, note the double-belt system which divides the strain between the two belts. In all these years, with all the Johnson Wax polishers I have or have had, I've never gotten one with a broken belt. We're talking about machines 50 to 54 years old!!
Obviously, I'm not sorry to have this since it's a model I did not have, and in fact did not even know existed. It will be lovely when I spruice it up.
It's just not the metallic dark blue model... *sigh*
