Help Support VacuumLand:

I have always kept an eye out for the floor polishers. I have only seen a floor polisher that matches a ze/za65 i was unable to look at the model number and unable to buy it as it was not for sale. I was able to see the original carrier with all the brushes in it. wish it was for sale. I do collect floor polishers if they are not too boring, I just don't know that much about them. I found in an old electrolux manual or brochure , no clue where that is now, showed the z73 or z74, the floor polisher and some flymo stuff. The brochure might have also mentioned a Z747 or something similar. I was roughly 4 when I looked at that brochure so model numbers are long forgotten.

Flymo used to sell a mower that sort of hovered above the ground, like a hoover constellation, and would automatically adjust. They were electric plug in mower, usually in makita green or bright orange. I have also seen a flymo leafblower. That is all I know about flymo. I can get photos of a makita green mower in about a week.

Electrolux z25, apparently mine was bought over from the UK. some of the accessories are from my parts storage.

Electrolux z40, I have found one on gumtree australia. There is some photos linked. Link, https://www.gumtree.com.au/web/listing/vacuum-cleaners/1329167090

Electrolux z62, After some digging here is a couple of you toutube videos featuring this model. One of them has an australian z337.

Electrolux Z89, in a few months I might, and only might, be getting an electrolux z89 to get photos of.
Electrolux Z99, No photos of info was found on this model.
Electrolux Z328 is the one in that lovely photo on TonyNZ's driveway.
Electrolux Z725, I was able to find one video featuring this model.
Electrolux D746, I can't find any photos of one. I will post them as soon as they are found.
Electrolux D747,same as D746.
Electrolux D348, I think this is the model number of the later remake of the 333 to match the D735. If i am wrong please correct me. I believe tony NZ has one based on an earlier comment.

If you look at that D725 suspension plate video ( which I have watched umpteen times ) you see the six fins and the post on top of the brush and bearing holder. The fins keep the motor from spinning and the post holds a spring that pushes the motor against its seal. You can still buy new 240 volt motors with that configuration so those vacuums can live forever. But mine are 100 or 120 volt machines and there are no 120 volt motors with that kind of brush holder. I have to either find a 240 volt motor like that from Domel, remove the brush holder and see if it will fit one of their 120 volt motors ( expensive guesswork ), or see if I can 3D print something that can be attached to the two screw holes on the brush and bearing holder of a modern Ametek motor. I really like the D720 and want to use it a lot but the original motors have a pressed on fan and can't be serviced.

Photos 2.
Thanks for the video links and photos. I'm learning a lot from you about Electrolux NZ. I appreciate you.

As far as I know there was never a standard Electrolux floor polisher that matched the Z65 and its iterations (ZA65, ZB65, ZE65, et cetera). The model variants B-9a/B-9b/B-9e, etc. were made during its run followed by the sage green and light grey B-19 that matches the ZC89, ZC90, and others. It seems that only Electrolux US and CA made polishers in all the stylings as their contemporaneous tank-type and canister-type vacuums due to their more limited offerings; whereas ABElectrolux subsidiary companies had multi-color lines of concurrent cleaners.

Here's a link to a thread that includes someone's photo of a ZC89 with a makeshift handle replacement:

Thank you very much, I love to hear it. I will add more info as I get it. I might be meeting up with someone who owned a vacuum shop about 20 years ago. Though it wwas started 25-30 years ago. Apparently they dealt in new, used and refurbished. Supposedly I might be getting a complete in bow electrolux of some sort.

I noticed on my 338 the number started with 8 as well, I really thought they were older than that, but come to think about it, a neighbour purchased a ambassador around 1986 ( really testing my memory now lol) so I guess this was the proceeding model then the very rare ( in Australia) navy blue and white model with crushable hose being sold alongside the 7 series digital models, my 338 is near immaculate birthday present from a friend and I still haven’t used it, I can’t find where to buy paper bags anymore unfortunately, if you know please let me know, thanks in advance

I've been having trouble finding bags as well and have decided to have a go at making them myself - see this thread. I'm in Adelaide as well so send me a PM and you'll always be able to get bags from me.

The ambassador d338 in tan and brown came out around 1982 and ran til about 1984. The came the d720 with the lower model being the green d336 from earlier which was released around 1984 and discontinued around 1989. Then came the d735 and lower blue and white 300 series machines in 1990 which ran through to 1992. Finally there was the grey one from post 10 that ran for about 4 years until 1996. When the d746 came out the 300 series was finally discontinued after 24 years and replaced with the d775. I wonder if the matching basic model came out at an earlier date.

Another interesting find. This one is from Australia. On the left there is a Volta and on the right there is a Eureka. The Volta has suction control and the Eureka does not. The Eureka also looks a bit smaller. Other than that they look almost identical.

Eureka made in Australia. Wow. Never knew the Electrolux Group used that name outside of the US and Canada. That particular model was not sold in the US that I am aware of, but Paul will probably prove me wrong, lol.

Very interesting find I thought. Also interesting how they sold an almost identical machine under a different name.
Electrolux Group sold a lot of their European models in the US and Canada under the Eureka and Sanitaire brand names. We got the Electrolux Mondo / Volta Elyps as the Eureka HP and as a GE model sold only in Walmarts. Those were made in Mexico. Versions of the Volta Gemini 2800 series were sold here as the Eureka S6982 and S6984 Home Cleaning System ( 6982 was single speed, 6984 had a variable speed controller on the hose ) while the S6983 was called the Europa. All three had different wands and power nozzles and were made in Sweden. Later on Eureka sold a version of the beautiful Electrolux Excellio as the S6993 Europa also made in Sweden. One of those is on my Holy Grail list! The Volta Mega was sold here as the Eureka Excaliber Mega, likewise made in Sweden. Weird vacuum. I have one. The big German made Electrolux Z457 was sold here with a big Ametek motor as the Sanitaire S490a and the AEG P3 came to North America as the Sanitaire S6950 ( suction only ), S6951 ( plastic wands and Eureka Express power nozzle ) or as the S6952 ( steel wands and the Eureka Rugmaster power nozzle ). All three were called System Pro models and all were made in Hungary. The System Pro name would get tagged on an upright and a version of the Mighty Mite. There would be other Hungarian made Eurekas like the Oxygen and one other that is out in my garage but the name escapes me. It has a transluscent blue lid and a removable cage the bag fits inside of.
