I recently got a hoover convertible and a Royal commercial upright. Ironically, both machine's model numbers are 1030. The Hoover was very dirty and the hood was broken and spray painted. The Royal's bag had a few tiny holes that I patched and also needed a good polish. Luckily, some helpful collectors were able to help me locate an original hood for my convertible. Here are some before and after pics of both machines.

Nick,

I may have not much interest in this machine as I would your two older Royals, I'd at least like to see your "screamer" 1030 Royal in action on YouTube. As a 10 amp motor, it will outdo even your 1984 Stark-branded 880 (4.5 amp).

Going by the housing, it appears to be a 2001 model.

A replacement brush roll for this machine is part #2673273000 and a replacement belt is #1672260001 if needed.

Ben, the royal is indeed loud but very VERY powerful. Even with the height all the way up and a good half inch above the carpet, it has no problem lifting my plush carpet against the nozzle.

As for the 660Z you mentioned, I really only bought a commcerial 10amp with shakeout because sometimes I just want to feel the power haha. If it were a lesser amp machine, I would rather have a household model because I like the colors better.

almost forgot

I will also try to upload a video of these two machines in action over the coming weeks.

very nice looking machines. I never cared much for royal uprights till I recently got some. and I would certainly not be the first to say those things are cleaning tanks!!Ranked somewhere on the list of beastly vacuums I'm sure.

video time

So, as promised, heres a video of my Royal 1030.
The video of my Hoover Convertible will be up later.

Tell me what you think.
