I agree about circuit boards in vacuums, it's just more that can fail, personally I don't even think a motor speed control is needed, if you want less suction, open the suction relief valve, it's low tech but has far less problems.
I may actually have an opportunity to obtain a few used models, does anyone know about the 2100, 6500, 7000 and ambassador 3? Did all of these use the same motor? Were these the higher end models or the lower budget models? Since I'm a collector, I'm always looking to add to the collection.
