My New Aerus Vacuums

I find it so strange that some people are having this dust problem while others are not. It seems that if we are all using the same machine with same brand bags we should all be having the same experience. After I switched bags, I have not had any issues at all. I check after vacuuming every time now, yes I know I am obsessive, and no dust. I too, am an electrolux/aerus fan, however I can be objective- if there was dust in mine, I would be the first to speak up. I have a horrible allergy to dust/mites etc. But I agree that as long as the filter does its job it is a non-issue. The vacuum out performs anything I have ever used, so worse case, I change the filter once a year. No problem.....

Cliff, I asked my branch manager if there was a change in the paper since I got the PRC pack of bags, and he told me that the paper has been consistent all along according to corporate. However, there is a big territory meeting coming up soon and he will ask that question again. I, too, find it strange that some are not having a leakage problem any more. I would gladly pay for a new package if I believed there would be an improvement.

I am the proud owner of the new Platinum! I have been a diehard Electrolux fan since a young child. This machine is fantastic.! Can someone tell me the difference with the cardboard of the old and new bags. I also have another question. Do you all think the fact that the power nozzle has to be turned off separately was an oversight in design. It does bug me that the power nozzle stays on when I turn the machine off. Have really enjoyed this thread and check it daily. Dan thanks much for starting it!

I am wondering

if Aerus is replacing our bags with the new batch or some get the new batch and some are getting the old batch hence the difference .

My new batch are a pack of 12 in a clear plastic bag . Aerus bags come in boxes for all the other machines the new bags are thicker that I have received I cut them both open .

My Aerus rep told me that he heard they made them thicker for the bags to sell to consumers the bags that came with the machines were the problem bags.

The power nozzle staying on was a problem that has been corrected it was a software glitch . I am waiting to see if they will fix it for us current owners if so I am sure it will be a control board that has to be replaced.

Richard, I agree, it is the only thing on the platinum that bugs me is the power nozzle switch issue. I heard they are changing it on future productions.

Thanks Dan, The bags I have are also 12 in a clear bag. They have 2 pieces of card board. When I open the compartment the bag stays attached to the top. There does not appear to be any dust in the chamber. The card board does not seem to be bending either. The bags seem fine. I hope they stand by the circuit board issue for those of us that bought the machine early in good faith. I still would have bought the machine with this issue. When I turn the machine off the power nozzle does turns off for a split second and then turns back on. The canister of course stays off. I hope this is not putting strain on the circuit board or could damage the machine. I would hate to have something short out. I am trying to remember to turn the power nozzle off first.

Dan is the circuit you are speaking of in the canister? Since you can fix machines is this something that is expensive? Thanks so much again!

The circuit board is in the canister itself . It's annoying and won't do any damage .
They will in time replace it under warranty they always stand by their vacuums .
When I find out about the fix I will let everyone know . I will have to pull my machine out
to try the new bags been busy lately and have been using my Aerus Guardian upright and
Kirby Sentria II .

I think that Home Care Industries' problems and financial difficulty may explain why the bags are now made in China. They might be having them made over there due to the lack of capital in keeping the U.S. plant open. I hope Aerus is talking with other companies in case something happens and Home Care folds. They will need bags for all thier users.

In days of old

when we were bold, we'd not have installed a circuit board in a vacuum that failed.
It's a nuisance.
I realize it regulates the pressure transducers and the motor speed to save power, but seriously?
If I spend so much for a machine to clean the house with?
Warranted or not, when it fails, it's a nuisance.
