My New Aerus Vacuums

I know several people who paid less, including myself. Fair price seems to run around 1,100-1,400. With extremes on either side. Good luck.

Brian, or any of you other guys that work for aerus lux, would you happen to know if aerus will introduce the vapor steamer here in the states that lux international has ? My steamer just burnt out today.. This would be the third time in five years I will have pack and mail it somewhere to be repaired. It would be a great product to have here and if I ever do have a problem I would just have to call my local lux guy to come pick it up at my home ..

Been busy

with Real Estate I just checked the HEPA that Aerus Sent me along with the bags and it`s the After HEPA filter long life one and I need the one behind the bag . I have to call them to get the right one . I still have yet to try out the new bags . Anyone else still having problems and are the new bags the fix ?

Dan

Hi Dan, I have had no problems since getting my new bags. On my second new bag now.. First one came out packed like a brick, with a clean dust chamber..

New bags

I have used three bags ( new ones ) and have had no problem with dust at all. I think the bags were the problem. It is a pleasure to use the platinum , and I find it to be an excellent vacuum.
Anyone have news on the redesigned upright ?
Thanks

Good to hear Cliff..anyone know of any news about aerus lux coming out with a vapor steam cleaner like lux international.

Nothing on

a steamer Mike let`s hope they make one soon . I am sure with the success of the Platinum which is a Lux intelligence they will bring the steamer here too .

Cliff that is great news going to have to pull mine out again and start to use it with the new bags .

Upright last I heard is April we shall see : ) Brian have you heard anything yet ?

Dan

As of the most recent owners meeting, there is no word on bringing the steamer to the US. Also, I can say there are some Aerus franchises where dealers are not allowed to sell a platinum below $1400+tax. It all really depends on the owner. MSRP is $2175 but some franchises retail them as high as $3299.

There is another owners meeting on the 25th, I will update then.

Let me know James. I just burnt up my steamer and every time it needs repair I have to pack it up and ship it somewhere.. Sometimes it takes a month to get back. I am not having it fixed this but don't want to get another one because getting them repaired is a pain. It would be nice if aerus lux came out with one cause if I ever need service, lux is right there at your home to. Repair or pick it up for repair.

Oh my gosh!! No way would I pay $3,000 for ANY vacuum. There would be some haggling going on. I would pay $1,500-$2,000 for a Platinum. That's a fair price for something that will presumably last for years and years (and I expect it will). A couple of years worth of bags, plus extra filters, scents, and a sprayer, would give you your money's worth. The box of 24 bags, plus the bags in the vacuum box, would last me about 3 years at least. That would itself be worth $200 bucks or more. I'm anxious to see what the newly designed power nozzle system will be like.

To Luxman107 -

You stated Christopher, "you definitely can't get a platinum for under 1500" -

This is absolutely NOT true - I ended up with the Guardian Ultra instead of the Platinum, and as I said in the original thread I started on my Ultra, I only paid a TINY bit more for my Guardian Ultra then one would have paid for the Best Sears Kenmore Canister Vacuum NOT on sale...

I promised the dealer I would never reveal the cash in hand sell price I paid for the Guardian Ultra...

I can also say that I was originally going to get the Platinum, before I found out about the issue with the power nozzle staying on with the canister power switch in the off position... And rest assured, the Cash in hand price he had offered me was WELL, WELL, WELL below $1500.00... I told him I would come back in 6-12 months to see if they resolved the issue with the power nozzle power, and he gave me his card with the price on the back and said the price would still be valid... Actually, he priced out the Legacy, and Ultra, and the Platinum for me...

And as a side note, he is the branch owner - Actually, He has twenty something sales people and owns a few locations... Evidently the branches purchase the machines from Aerus and in the end can sell them for what ever they really want...

I am sure they should have minimums, but then we bargained at P.C. Richard for all our kitchen appliances two years ago, and ended up paying $1600.00 less the their best sale price at the time, and still got to keep all the store and factory rebates...

The point being, in todays economy, even Aerus Dealers will deal - After all, A Sale is a Sale -

And as a final note - the Guardian Ultra I purchased was the new version with the LED power nozzle, and Flip Over Floor Tool, and was Brand New sealed in the carton... I also have my signed Aerus pink sales agreement with the serial number filled out as well... I did also check and the machine has been registered with Aerus by the Dealer...

For Past Reference - I purchased a Renny (first gen dark grey) when they first came out and paid $650.00 cash back then - I could have most likely done better, but it was only out for a few weeks when I made the purchase...

You just have to bargain -

I also think if you read back, that the original "Dan" (KirbyLoverDan) only paid $1000.00 for his Platinum as well...

Hi Luxman107...

I was just going on what you had stated in your reply #592...

Did you then really mean to say:

"Christopher, you definitely can get a platinum for under 1500"

instead of

Christopher, you definitely can't get a platinum for under 1500" ?

Dan P.

Oh man Dan, I am sorry. You are so are right. :). Bad bad Mikey typo. You Can get a platinum for under 1500. Sorry. Again :)

New Lux Guardian Upright

Dan,

I have heard little about the new upright vacuum only that one is supposed to be here next month. Between plowing snow in the dump truck and finals at school I have had zero time to do or check into anything. I will let you guys know as soon as I find out.

On a familiar note, the new bags in my Platinum leak also, but not as bad. I am going to try to get a pic up so you guys can see. As usual I'm the only one with problems lol. A spot about the size of a tennis ball (color of Nestle cocoa powder) right on the back of the bag where it sits in front of the filter and motor fan cutout. The filter has a fair amount of _hit in it as well. Looks a lot like Kirby Lavender suds residue from the FloorPro I used this past week. It has been a recurring issue since the new filter and thicker bags were installed a month or so back.
