My New Aerus Vacuums

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

I don't own one but think the suction is probably too much for the bags to handle, I mean how much suction do you really need...combined with an aggressive brush roll. I would wonder about it wearing out the carpet. I'd keep it on the low or medium suction levels most of the time, especially if you vacuum once or twice per week. Hopefully they are resolving the bag flop.

I will

keep mine on Automatic it adjusts from low when there is little dirt to high for a lot of dirt .

The brushroll is not as aggressive as say my Kirby Sentria and Sentria II .

I have frieze` carpet and it shreaded the strands in the areas that are open under furniture and places like that the carpet looks like new .

Aerus will fix the problem guranteed I have zero doubts as they always address all problems on every Aerus/Electrolux this is why they have been around for ever excellent customer service/satisfaction .

Dan

I tend to always use the highest settings except on blinds and drapes. Will have to try the automatic selection more often. Really how much suction do you need to suck up a dust bunny.. Not the full power the platinum offers. But like I said previously, since I have the new batch of bags i have not noticed any leakage or pin holes in the bottom of the bag.

Imagine

Adding extra power to a vacuum could cause this issue. I would hate to shorten the life of those expensive bags and hepa's!!!

Surely they will address this issue.

I have a glass sprayer from the 70's with brass tube and spray head I still use. Works much better than the blue plastic one tat came with my legacy.

Yes you can still by the blue plastic sprayer. I think they charge 10 bucks for them. Most dealers will give you one if you ask if you are purchasing one of their machines,.

Dan, the size of the Miele bags are also twice the size of Aerus bags. Nonetheless, the Miele bags are still more expensive. Just want to keep it in perspective cause it isn't as drastic as it seems... more like $3.20 to $4.74... :)

Curtis

I went to evacuums.com for the price of course prices vary I guess I really have to make sure I ad everyting but I thought most people can figure that out .
smiley-laughing.gif
They can save $1.54 per miele bag with your price where ever that is from .

Aerus bags can be even cheaper if you buy generic same as Miele Aerus bags hold more dirt than you realize size doesnt really matter .

Dan

The aerus lux bags also hold a lot of dirt. They are like a brick when full and you change the bag due to the lux cyclonic action on the bag chamber. It's really unbelievable how much dirt they hold.

Mike

That is so true plus there never seems to be any loss of suction either because of the ribs in the bag chamber which allows air / suction to flow around the bag not through the bag full of dirt .
Aerus/Electrolux always had that on all of their machines the older ones had some kind of holes in the bag compartment which did the same thing to keep suction/airflow at its peak .

Dan

I too, appreciate the knowledge Dan shares with all of us! By the way, I received my bags and filters from Aerus today. New bags are thicker and a slightly different color. I cut open a bag that came with my platinum and a new bag ( since they are only a couple $ each) and there is a difference. Will let you know when I get through with one. But so far , with the pack of bags I opened earlier no dust. Just my experience. Thanks

Man I hope that making them thicker stops the problem cuz I think cheaper high filtration bags are a selling point. What about the deforming cardboard collars? I'm afraid a customer will think it's going to burst if that happens to them and will put them off.

Cardboard collars-maybe because of the 'luxes new more powerful motor-the collars should be made from a plastic material instead-like on Meile and Sebo bags.Sort of vaguly remember Air-Way had this problem-the more powerful motors in their later machines required the plastic collar over the cardboard one.The cardboard collar broke or collapsed under the suction of the newer motor.
