My New Aerus Vacuums
I can see Dan's point about most users may not notice the leaking bags but won't they take notice if they are having to pay to replace the hepa filters more often?
Also, doesn't it seem like sort of a major issue to have bags leaking into the chamber and hepa filter? I would have thought they would have done more testing before bringing the product to market.
I would think people who are purchasing an expensive machine might be more likely to notice a problem than if they paid $39.00 for Big Box store vacuum.
I had a similar problem with a well known upright I bought about 4 years ago. It came with 2 bins. One bin was to be used in a bagless manner with a filter. The other bin was to be used with a Hepa throw-a-away bag. The problem was that the machine or bags were so poorly designed that the Hepa bags would NOT stay on the mount and it would allow the dirt to go right into the motor.
Thinking it was just MY machine,I returned it and got another from another store. SAME PROBLEM. I called the company and guess what-they had NEVER had any complaints! What a FLIP answer to give a cutomer. I was referred to 3 different authorized repair shops and each one could not fix the problem. The last one tried to get me to trade it in for another make machine. I just sold that vac and it was a $249.00 machine.
So I think Dan is correct that most people may not notice the problem until they have the replace filter light coming on. I don't think replacing the expensive hepa bags is good solution for most customers either.
This has been a very interesting thread and I guess we will have to stay tuned and see how it is resolved.
