My New Aerus Vacuums

Someone could make a few extra quick extra bucks importing a bunch of the cloth bags and selling them on eBay unless that would possable void the 15 year manufactures warrante

I think maybe the suction is just too much and the bags cannot handle it.... You really need those cloth layered bags, they just seem better constructed. Miele makes the best bags- hands down. Hope they resolve the bag issue for those of you who have the Platinum.

Since lux bought me the new thicker bags and a new hepa, I have had no leakage so I am hoping that solved the problem. The rubber casket and cloth bags would be a bonus.

I am still

waiting for my bags and HEPA filter . Aerus was the pioneer in the 4 ply filtration bags from the very begining. I have never had any dust leakage in any of my machines until this Guardian Platinum . I havent used mine and I will wait until I get the new bags and filter .

I used the Miele intensive clean bags in my Capricorn and the air clean bags in my S7 these are the cloth type bags and I always had dust in the bag compartments of both machines . I am not sure about the newer bags but I had two cases of those bags for the capricorn left when I closed my store and used those only and bought a pack for the upright recently .

Brian ,
The Domel motor is an awsome motor I think its made in Italy they make very good high quality long lasting POWERFUL motors. You are so welcome Brian I may just have to get the new upright from you once it`s released . I also will be buying the new and inmproved power nozzle once its available . My first time in Jersey I was on the Atlantic city expressway in my Benz pulled over for going 98mph in a 55 ouch 2 points and a $400.00 fine .

My guess is the TriStar CS has the VM3 motor; when I put the Ametek #119523 motor, it made a HUGE difference.

I hope to buy the Guardian Platinum canister & Guardian Platinum air purifier soon. So far, I hear great reviews here on VacuumLand.

Guardian Platinum brochure

Nathaniel, where did U find the Lux Guardian Platinum brochure? I'd like to have a copy just in case I buy the Guardian Platinum vacuum.

I have the Miele canister S2 for three years.... Been using the bags that are specified for it, and even used the 3M aftermarket ones, spotless inside. I even wipe my finger to check every so often. Maybe your Capricorns are just bad luck for you. I use the blue 4 ply Home Solutions bags for my upright Guardian, no dust inside, just very, very little or find dust at the base by the fan motor.

Gaurdian Platinum Bags

I called the 800 number for Aerus and the lady (Melinda) told me they hadn't had any other complaints about the bags leaking dust, but she is sending me a complimentary package of bags but no hepa filter. But I talked to Brian(Funeral Director) who sold me my Platinum, and he said to look at the cardboard the bag was attached to and see if it was bending in from the suction. It was bending in so I hope that that start putting a stronger piece of cardb oard on the bags to fix that problen. It would be nice to have the rubber gasket put back on the machine that went up against the bag.... Dan

Who

knows but my S7 also had dust in bag compartment ,my aluminium also had dust in the bag comprtment . I never walk in home with shoes so I have no idea where the dust was coming from . I don`t have to worry about that as I sold every Miele I have had . I think I will buy the Miele S8 Unique to see how that machine is .

Already done that a while ago.... the title of this thread is "My new aerus vacuums" So I think anything pertaining to Aerus is valid discussion here. I own (2) vacuums a guardian upright and miele canister. I talk about miele and aerus because that's what I own and can relate to. I am on here in hopes of learning about the new Aerus upright, not really interested in the Platinum. I still think its a top notch machine though. so.......

Erik, both the lux platinum vac and air purifier are great machines. Good luck with your purchase, you can't go wrong. I have two platinum air purifiers and the platinum vac..

I think Dan brings up a good point. We on this forum are much more "passionate" about these sorts of things than the average consumer. I just hope that Aerus recognized that there is an issue and corrects it with new units being sold instead of waiting for enough people in the masses to call in to report an issue. Which most likely explains why others that don't have the relationship/connections that Dan and Brian (FuneralDirector) have are getting the "we haven't heard of any issues with the bags" or "no we haven't had any complaints like that" when they call the 800 number. It hasn't been flagged as any sort of issue by the company or by the dealers for that matter it seems. At least not yet.

The vacuum works so well, that the small amount of dust that leaks and is caught by the filter is not a "big" deal. Since I started using the bags from the pack I bought, not that came with machine, I have not noticed any leakage. The 'average' person, who is just trying to get the job done, and is not interested in vacs will never notice the issue. I feel sure Aerus will make changes to their bags and send anyone who calls customer service a new pack. Having said this, yes of course this problem should never have happened! But, the platinum is still a design success, and I feel will prove to overcome any shortfalls. Just my thoughts..
