Lets settle it! What's your favorite early series Kirby?

My vote goes for the Kirby 519. Love the color scheme Kirby used on the vac, plus the fact that it's got only 1 speed....so it would probably clean slightly better than the Dual Sanitronic 50 & 80, since it's always running on high speed.

I know this is supposed to be a thread solely devoted to the early, early black bag Kirby's, but I just have to show my favorite daily driver, and its the Eureka in the middle. I can honestly say I ride her like she only cost me two dollars, and I have never ever heard her complain, not nitpick once, and that's a pretty good track record!

Can I like all of them. Each one has some thing special about it's design and the evolution of the next model. Also what about the scott & fetzer sanitation systems?
They were after the vacuettes and before Jim Kirby put his name on what we now know as the Kirby Vacuum.

I would like to have one of each of the models. The wireless vacuette would be my favorite. Based on its motor less manual design. The latest in technology for its time.

Tradition

I like the Tradition for it's beautiful blue color, and its place in Kirby history as the first to offer disposable bags.

Wicked Kirby should have kept that wonderful creature feature...Shame, shame on them! It looks like someone needs to give that company the evil eye, really bad.

Tradition for sale

I have this tradition for sale if you're interested in getting one. The wireless next to it is not for sale.

Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80 with my wife's Dyson DC25, we have vacuum wars. Still, there's no denying which is the better vacuum! Sure, the Dyson is way more advanced and modern, but, it's not heavy metal tough like the Kirby. I highly doubt the Dyson will still be around in 50 years!

I also have a Sanitronic 7 pictured, but, these are all my favorites, the San 7, the Dual 50 and 80.

technically speaking,

If my DreamSoto was for the 1961 model year, then it was on sale in 1960 (and should I wake up in 1960 tomorrow, I'll take a DeSoto,a Kirby, and a Montgomery Ward charge card with no limit!!

)

Fun fact-wards even sold HOUSES from their catalog back in the day!

Calem-I've got a question for you! WHY is there a Eureka RR belt on that 505s handle? Is it perhaps a hint at that lovely Eureka F&G?

Alex,

you got it all figured out...you just won a brand new CAR!!!....NOT! Since you mentioned it, it does look like a Eureka belt, but it's just a Kirby half-knot. Portapower, I couldn't have said it any better. Bravo and well done!
