Stan have a word with a allergy specialist. I've seen 3 one is supposed to be the top consultant in the UK. His advice was to remove carpets and replace it with hardfloors.
As I've said previously dust mites cling to carpet fibres and are difficult to remove. With a hard floor they have nothing to cling to and are removed easily. If you have a dust mite allergy this is the best option.
