Why is everybody trying to..
Talk him out of it?
He doesn't want a Kirby, or a Sebo. He wants a Dyson. Anybody would think you guys recieved commission!
I thought about doing this myself. Way back when. I would still love to try one of these machines. And I am pretty fond of Dysons. (What I seem to do now is buy a machine, try it, and sell it on. Just so I know what it's like..)
What I think you should consider is that it will be pricey! (machine + shipping + import charges + transformer) I think this is what put me off. If you get the machine and love it, great stuff!
But what about if you get it, and don't like it? Or get bored of? Or it destroys your carpet? (I went to Florida a few years back, and went straight to wal-mart to look at one of these. The bristles don't have any give in them. Now, I like a stiff bristle, but I think I would be cautious of using this machine regularly) It won't be so easy to sell the machine on, not without, what I would imagine to be, a big loss.
It's your decision to make though, just have a think about all the possibilities first.
I will however wait for the day Michael wants to sell me his DC17 for a fantastic price!
There isn't any harm in trying some other machines whilst you are making your decision though. Especially if you can sell them on easily if they turn out not to be the right machine for you.
