I've always had a fondness for the model 70 and similar.
If that's the blue one then yes, 70 hands down. The 1100 series is when they really changed the design and it was terribly easy to break and not be repairable. At first we loved how much cheaper these units were until we realized they were just trash after being trashed by housekeepers. I look at that 70, and all my memories of how to dissemble them and what parts were weak points (like that screw at the handle base) come flooding back from decades ago. :)

Since I can’t decide, I will just have to use all three. The “old style special“ model N belonged to the late Stan Kann. The model 700 did as well. In fact, the model 700 was his favorite model Hoover. It’s interesting, and sad, that there are many vacuum collectors who have no idea who he was. To them I say “Google is your friend“. So are YouTube videos Stan was a character. IMG_0525.jpeg

Mornings at the House of Hoover. My dog is the only thing on the vintage carpet less than 100 years old. Except for his doggy hairs which are in the Hoover bag. Model 105. 1922IMG_0537.jpegIMG_0540.jpeg
