U7008`C

Hi Tommy

How odd- the C1312 is defiantly April 89 so im guessing you had the U7008C with the orange bag instead??. I still cant believe I have this- its still not had dirt through it but im VERY tempted to put a paper bag in and give it a quick run round :).

Any pics of your paper bag converted U7008 yet ;)?

Cheers
Seamus

the baby and his bag!

Hi Seamus, I'm sure this is a genuine replacement bag of the late eighties, though the top filling tube is the same as the ones used on Convertibles (Senior Ranger) like mod U 4002-4014 from the mid-late Seventies.
Following some pictures!

Bags..

Hey Tommy

Id say late 70s fo that cloth bag which would tie in with the top fill setup(as you are no doubt aware the actual cleaner is March 1980).

I wonder if the modification was done by the dealer when it was sold or later in its life- it dosent look out of place and obviously makes it so much easier and cleaner to empty :).

My U7008 has been modified (by me) to use standard bottom fill paper bags but still has the original outer bag. I used the bellows/fil tube from a scrap 638 ;).

well, I guess that the replacement bag was fitted during the eighties, probably something left in the infentory because ALL the Hoover U7008 I saw after bag replacement for paper bag use had a white nylon bag whith red "hoover commercial" label and a top filling system very similar to the ones used on the power-plus range(U 4064-U 4298) with cardboard plate and filling hole in the front.
However this 7008 is in great conditions, just a little bit dirty and runs so quiet...I really love those beasts... however I remember that the bag replacement lately meant removing from the old cloth bag the bottom part that was locked to the machine and the rubber elbow with top filling tube had to be glued to it...kind of a boring procedure, ever heard anything about it? The reason is because the last bag assembly available ( the conquest range orange bag) was much more expensive!
