Hi, I have been collecting vacuums since I was about 8 now (although I don't go out looking for them, they follow me home either way). I have had for quite a while a Hoover model 305 which is in pretty good shape. I don't remember where it came from or what I payed for it, but I know I have had it and used it maybe once in the 5 or so years I have owned it. The only issue the machine has that I cannot fix with what I already have is that the bag that was/is on it when I got it is very badly falling apart to the point it is not usable. It is not the original, it has been replaced with one that takes paper bags, I used a Eureka F&G bag in it and the machine works flawlessly. Anyway, I am looking for a good condition bag for it, Honestly I don't care too much if it is original as I know that would be hard to find and likely quite expensive... I just want something that will work properly, and look okay on the machine (match the color scheme of the machine and not look too out of place). I have found a website that claims to have a bag that will fit and looks okay for around $20, although it says it is out of stock, and it has said that since I looked around 5 years ago, so that is no longer available. I have also found that it would appear, although not completely sure, that a more modern "commercial" hoover bag would fit this machine, although I am not too big of a fan of that idea because they all either say commercial all over the bag, or are bright orange. I would like it to either say hoover, or just be blank.
I know this is a lot of stipulations, but I really like things to look at least somewhat right and not all bodged together, and if they are bodged together, I like them to be able to at least hide it to an untrained eye. Anyway, If anyone knows of a part number or something to look up, or where to find a bag for this machine, any help would be appreciated as I would really love to restore and use this machine. I would like to stay at or under the $50 range, but I understand that may not be possible as well. Thanks

It would not be difficult for someone who knows their way around a sewing machine, to make one. You'll need black twill.

I gave Michael Balda (chicagomike on here) a number of original Hoover bags so he could make reproductions. His reproductions are flawless. You might check with him.

Kyle,

The two bags you have pictured are absolutely beautiful! The first one, with "The Hoover" in red and the silver trim looks like the exact match for an 825. Let me know if it's still available and price as I would be interested in that one.
Thanks,
Jeff

It does look nice. I guess I could try to fabricate something. I do believe I am missing the clip for the top as well, but I have not looked in a little while, so it may be there.
