Very nice machine.

What type of agitator does it use? Can you show a pic?

At the time, you could purchase a different brushroll, known as '4-brush groomer' for low-profile carpeting.

Brushroll

Hey Calum

It has the standard 2 brush/beater bar agitator. You are quite correct there is an all brush unit mentioned in the manual specially for carpet tiles/short pile and stuck down carpet(I have one somewhere).

P.S The rust has been sorted :)

Oh the Wattage.....

Forgot to say I was told Hoover changed the way they measured the wattage but its the same performance as the earlier 400W versions.

Thanks for the pics and info (I wonder how Hoover can measure Wattage differently? I always thought that it was Voltage multiplied by Current).

Paul: feel free to mention the Hoover washer.

SeamusUK: Was it you who mentioned on some other thread, that I should tell you if I got a box of Dixan from the Co-Op? If so, then yes, I did; for £8.00. I've still to open the box though.

oh my God!

Hello, today I went to my mother's house where I keep my vacuum cleaners collection. She kindly asked me to go and pick her up at the switzerland custom as she had been spending the weekend there. Well whene her friend opened his bentley's luggage compartment he smiled and said"this is for you child!"
A wonderful Hoover U 7008 he found in a closet in his office. After realizing it was mine and appreciating that at 29 someone still dares to call me child I picked it upand ran fastly home!
It works wonderfully , I'll try and post somepictures as soon as I can as I don't have my camera with me. it is gorgeous because the man found in the clset also the original while the cleaner has sometime been fitted with a genuine grey smaller bag with top fillin tube for paper bags!
I'm really happy tonight!

Hey Tommy

Thats great !

Look forward to seeing the top fill setup- I will take a better pic of this one later, the bag flange is plastic and screws to the chassis.
Maybe your U7008 is the same??

What is the arrow-shaped sticker on the side of the hood? Does it point to some kind of height-right control?

The Height adjuster...

Hey Calum

The back wheels turn to 3 different heights and are locked with a pin- you can sort of see on the pic of the underside and I will take a closeup asap.

As far as I know the 912A was the 1st version to have 3 settings, the 912 worked on the same principal but only had 2-if any UK collectors know different feel free to correct me lol! :)
