Here Come the 2016 Dysons!

The Dyson V8 looks awesome, and here's their new Cinetic Big Ball Canister, with the same self-cleaning shroud (a wonderful solution to a problem they created). I want the best from the vacuum industry's most aggressively-innovative company. Time will tell what the US gets, but I see promising ideas here.

Two points: how about a cleaner that didn't fall over to start with? Second, why empty the cleaner indoors?

I do wonder about the general stability of the machine. I hope it's not a fumble-y mess to pull around, and I hope the hose is longer than literally every Dyson canister vacuum I've used (they're all 6 feet.. far too short!).

I empty all my many bagless cleaners indoors. When designed right, they can be very clean to empty. With newer Dysons, the shroud easily clogs, which leads to eventually having to take the bin apart to clean it (a messy ordeal). On my older Dysons, and other vacuums, emptying indoors has never been a problem.
Their new cordless vacuums look fantastic! We've come a LONG way since the Dustbuster.[this post was last edited: 4/15/2016-04:29]

I still dislike the hose handle...too awkward when doing above the floor cleaning. I think a lot of canisters would tip over when pulled around a table like the one in the demo....think Filter Queen, GE swivel top...if they did not get hung up on the pedestal.

These look nice but I wish Dyson would a motor-head version of the canister.

Wow. Dyson designed their hose handle just like Spencer Turbine did in 1910. And with that horrible turbo brush, the owner of the new Dyson canister can certainly enjoy their filthy rugs. I guarantee that turbo head would dead stop on my Frieze carpets.

That turbo brush is such a joke! I agree Tom! Dyson is a far cry from what they once were.

When are they going to put a legit electric PN. Back on their canisters. The size of the cinetic nozzle would be great if they just added rear wheels to it and an elbow it would make a good power head to add to their canisters. But they seem to be stuck on this whole turbo thing

Yes...

I've tried the turbo nozzle... While decent for it's class and only behind a Miele head and a Turbo Cat, they're still far behind the performance of any PN on anything other than commercial carpeting. Along with more complicated than either of the other options due to the "bare floor" suction valve they have.

Great, I found it to do a fantastic job and to be one of the best turbo nozzles i've ever had and I found it to be a a lot better than the Miele turbo brush but it's still pretty good,if you disagree that's fine.and it can't clean like a good powerful full size upright or a Good PN but still does a fantastic job. BTW and that Powercat turbo brush looks fantastic I wouldn't mind one of them.

...then we'll see how great it is! I'd wager this against my Fairfax with Eureka made powerhead any day, you can hear the airflow! The FX doesn't tip over either. I took that thing up to a friends house up in Indian River MI who has a sand driveway and used it with the filter but no bag for visual effect and it pulled up at least 3/4 of a cup of sand within 5 minutes. They have a Dirt Devil Breeze.

Dyson's articulated handle sounds great until you suck up something like a toothpick under a bed and it jams and forms a clog in that corner.

I agree with Tom. Turbo nozzles are a joke! So much of the vacuums suction and airflow are wasted just to spin the brush. It takes twice as long to vacuum any room with a turbo nozzle because you need to go over and over your carpet just to get it clean. Give me any good canister (not Dyson) with an electric Power Nozzle any day!

I dont find it to be the case with every turbo brush that's air driven - provided it has an air outlet valve, then dirt doesn't tend to ping out.

Sticking with my three Mieles. These Dyson's are just to could to be true. Miele is always will be my favorite brand. Also my Capricorn will deep clean far better than that piece of Malaysian junk and my Capricorn has never tipped over.

Nothing wrong with them being Malaysian made. We spend stupid money on IPhones & Samsungs made on China.

My gripe with Dyson is that they stop supporting their products after a number of years. Some of us actually like to keep old products going. A 2004 DC04 or 2007 DC16 is no longer supported, forcing owners to buy a new one. I think this is very poor. But perhaps good business practise.

Im sorry but Dyson really ? That thing has more plastic on it than a Ford Focus ... Il stick to my Electrolux AP 200 whit a real power head and vinyl hose. I had a Kenmore Bag less the evo model big canister whit an actual power nozzle did a great job .If Dyson was smart they'd put a electric power head height adjustment quadraflex brush roll and and voila not a hype thing piece of plastic im sorry i just think there funny looking and good luck whit that .Thtat nozzle would stop dead on my rugs suction must be small whit such a small motor to many air ducts .
