Second dibs

If things with Alex fall through for any reason, I will consider the TP3 yours, Madabouthoovers. It is only fair to keep things in 'first come, first served' order.

If anyone passes another one my way, I'll let you know.... :)

The Electrolux is still up for grabs..... ;)

All best

Is the Electrolux a bagged or bagless model - I don't have much info on the old Boss models. Is it in good nick / parts missing etc? Which postcode are you in?

Oh god, I feel awful now :(

I am really sorry, Steve!
Dave, I did send you a message on vacuumland to arrange collection, if it came through it should be in the top bar were all the forums are, it is on the far right side and says "msg". :)

DC07 & DC01

Hi Dave

I will collect the DC07 and also the DC01 for Ultimatevacman. Sent you a private message and expect this to be the first couple of weeks of May as working some funny shifts over this time.

Electrolux

I have the Electrolux in front of me now...

It is badged as 'The Boss Lite' 1500W I am trying to work out whether it's black or VERY dark blue... It's a 'bagless/cyclone'type. It has a 'double-sided' triangular brush/hard spreader attachment, though the hard plastic 'extension tube' is currently missing (I'm fairly sure it was with it when it arrived, I will have a look around). Other than that it appears to be complete, and the brush is not badly worn. It is just generally very dusty/dirty as may be expected from something in storage for about ten years.

As I have said previously, I have never used it, and would recommend that it is checked over before being put back into service.

For 'Madabouthoovers', I'm in the ST5 area......

Thank you ALL for your (quite overwhelming) interest

Dave T

By the way, Whats the DC01 serial number? I might be able to work out if its got an Ametek or YDK motor

More info.....

DC01 serial number:- 600-A-337756

Alexhoovers has collected his TP3

I have found a small 'lozenge shaped' brush, which I think goes with the Electrolux (same colour plastic, anyway).

Not yet found the 'extension tube', which, I gather, is called a 'Wand' in Vacuumspeak...... ;)

All best, and thanks for your continued interest

Hi Dave, Thanks so much for the TP3 :D

This is what you showed me in your car, right? it is called the Hoover Portapower, the were from the 1970's, I believe. But not certain as I am not really into those or know much about them, I know one when I see one though. :P

PortaPower

That looks like the beastie.... Thanks, Alex.... I'll still call it 'K9', though..... ;)

Keep me posted about the TP3.... Hope you didn't forget to take the 'before' photo.... ;)

All best

Dave T

Probably YDK, But I never come across a DC01 with the serial Number that has 600 on it tho, but I think its most likely YDk

"Hope you didn't forget to take the 'before' photo"
I certainly didn't, I took 4 before photo's in total, and will be posted on the thread (when I make it) but here is a sneak peak.
It has been completely disasembled and bathed in warm soapy water, just waiting for it to dry and then I can reasemble it, polish it and then I will be ready to make a thread, probably will be up some time next week. :)

Alexhoovers - RichardC

I don't remember it looking (quite) that grotty, Alex, but deliberately didn't wipe it down, so you got a better (more honest) before shot. Was there any 'vintage dirt' in the permabag?? I thought it felt a bit heavy when I put it in the car, but hadn't time to check it out. I also hadn't noticed the missing duct cover... :(

RichardC... I have just 'powered up' the DC07... Motor runs, brush spins, suction at nozzle, no abnormal noise. Unable to do a 'working' test as in garage.

Double-checked DC01 serial number... It is correct

There is still an Electrolux 'The Boss' up for grabs...

All best

Your welcome Joe :) I like the DC01 because I grew up with one :D it brings back childhood memories but I sadly burn thye motor out bwecause when I was a toddler, I always used it too much, and it broke in about 2 years just cos of me :( we would have still had it probably, but we put it in the shed, and some idiot burglar took it!!! but it was all junk in the shed anyways :D

Cool, it's a shame it got stolen. I don't think a burglar will find much use for a broken Dyson.

I really like Dyson's and I hope to get more of them soon :)

Also, it's the same story here with the DC04, I grew up with one :)

Is that the same TP3 I got last week? With permabag?

It sure is, TOL, only yours, unfortunately is missing the little LED "light cover" thing for the "boost" light, If I can get one of the LED "light covers" out of my Turbopower 1000 (spare one) you can have it :).

Dave, that is just how it came, I didn't do anything to it, the spots on it are from the spitting of the rain that probably made it look worse but with no offence here, it was FILTHY :P I do respect you didn't do anything to it either. There was nothing in the Permabag, just some hairs wrapped around the "Dirt Release Tounges" don't worry about the duct cover, on this model it would of been a "quick release dust channel" so it just clipped on and off for blockage inspections (the older models didn't have this, it just unscrewed) so as it just clips on, I can understand it being missing, they are easy to get hold of on eBay, anyway. :)

To top that all off Dave, I can't complain, I paid nothing for it! :)

"we put it in the shed, and some idiot burglar took it!!!"

Why in the name of all that's holy would you steal a DC01?!?! The burglars must of been desperate for a sweeper...I mean vacuum! :P
