First, a big 'Hello' to all at Vacuumland (especially those who already know me from AW.org ;) )

I have the following on a 'free to a good home' basis.....

Electrolux 'The Boss' (Model Number Z4387 A-1)
Hoover 'Turbopower 3 (Model Number U2880)
Dyson DC01 (yellow/grey)
Dyson DC07 (yellow/grey)

They 'should' all be in working order.... They are ones I have 'inherited' from various people over the years. My house does not have enough exposed floor to use an upright, hence needing to get rid of some 'stuff'... ;)

They come complete with at least 'most' of their accessories. The Dyson DC01 has no mains lead, but that is because it was used to repair a friend's Dyson some years ago.

They may benefit from a service before use.... The Electrolux and DC01 have not been used for 10 years or more, the Hoover and DC07 for about 5 years. (I have never used any of them, that is when they 'arrived')

They can be collected from the Stoke-on-Trent area of Central England. Delivery may be possible in the Stoke/Stafford area.

If you are interested in any or all of these, please reply to this thread.

If there is no interest, they will go to the 'Great Ethical Recycling Facility In The Sky' (who promise not to Landfill them, or dump them in Africa)......

Thanks for your interest

Dave T

I am very interested in the Turbopower 3 as anyone who knows me I am a HUGE Turbopower fan, so when you say "free" to a good home, I presume you are being literal :)

P.S, I could collect in person.

Alex.

AlexHoovers94

Yes, Quite literal.... I am aware that some or all of them may now be changing hands for money, but since I cannot guarantee their condition I am prepared to let other enthusiasts and/or collectors enjoy them.

For all I know, some of them may include some 'vintage' dirt, I have never used any of them.... ;)

All best

Dave T

Hi Dave

So how does this work then :P because lots of people will probably be interested in the same cleaners, is it first come first serve or what?

Thanks,
Alex.

How it works

Not sure really.... I'm new here...... ;)

As far as I am concerned, Alex, since you are the first to express interest in the 'TurboPower3', and offer to collect it, it is yours. There is no need to rush to make a 'special journey' to collect it, it will be fine if you are heading this way in the near future.

UltimateVacMan, Not really prepared to 'post' something the size/weight/fragility of a vacuum cleaner, and can't think how I would recover my costs.....

Not sure how much of a 'community' Vacuumland is on this side of the 'pond'(since I'm new here), but perhaps you could persuade Alex (or whoever collects any of the others) to bring it to you, or at least closer to you, so you could collect it from them.

Hope this helps (and that I haven't opened a big 'can of worms' for myself)

Dave T

There is no need to rush to make a 'special journey'

Oh I know, I can collect at the weekend Saturday or Sunday, I am not doing anything else, :P (as long as you are free) it is not that far from me, Stoke, less than an hour, any car journey that is an hours drive or less, I don't give two thoughts about, as long as I know an address to go too :P I didn't want to rush anything I was just after a bit of reasurence, if that doesn't sound cheeky. ;)

Hi there, do you have any pictures???
I am quite interested in the DC07, but there was 2 yellow and grey models, and I already have one of them.
I am in the East Midlands, and I'm not sure if I could come and collect it though!!!
Also don't suppose you have any pics if the Electrolux????
George

When you said Dyson, I^ WAS^ SOO overwhelmed but when I found out they are the same models as mine I was like "Oh damn" lol

DC07

Is still available until someone makes a definite committment to collect it....

Sorry, I dont have the ability to post digital photographs, and wasn't aware that there are 'variants' on the models.... If there is some 'distinguishing feature' that I can look for, I will get back to you. Please note that I am not a 'collector' myself, I have simply saved several appliances from being 'landfilled' over the years, and so have no idea whether these are of value or not. I now need the space that they are occupying.

I can quote full serial numbers, if that will help people decide.....

All best

Dave T

Hi there, I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to pick it up, and I doubt you'd be prepared to deliver it, so I suppose I'm gonna have to let Richard have it:(
PS as for distinguishing feature, does it look like this, or is it more yellow? Ignore the purple bit on it though

DC07 (again)

Just had a look.... This may cause some amusement, since I have no idea what the various parts of a Dyson are called......

The handle, main chassis, motor housing and foot are all 'silver grey' plastic..
The cyclone 'cowl' on top of the collector tank, the 'internals' of the collector tank, and the brush housing trim are yellow plastic.. There is a band of silver-grey between the cowl and tank..
The collector tank is clear plastic...

The full serial number (from the label awkwardly placed on the bottom of the appliance)is 090-UK-G11394 if that means anything to any of you.....

All best

Dave T

OK, but the Standard has more yellow than the origin and is slightly quieter and also has grey instead of silver on the early models.
The Origin is the one where Dysondestijl (George) has kindly posted a picture of.

Dave

If you could keep my name on the DC07 I will arrange to collect when I am over that way towards the end of the month beginning of next month.

Kind Regards
Richard.

DC07

No problem, Richard..... Consider it yours...

I wonder if you would be so kind as to take the DC01 to Leeds with you, so that Ultimatevacman could pick it up locally??? (See replies #3/5)

Either way, please let me know when you will be in the area.

Best regards

Dave T

Oh what a pity - was after a TP3 for a while now - missed these and I live on your doorstep as well in Stoke (ST4).
If there are any cancellations I will have second dibs - can collect mornings as I work nights.

Second dibs

If things with Alex fall through for any reason, I will consider the TP3 yours, Madabouthoovers. It is only fair to keep things in 'first come, first served' order.

If anyone passes another one my way, I'll let you know.... :)

The Electrolux is still up for grabs..... ;)

All best

Dave T

Is the Electrolux a bagged or bagless model - I don't have much info on the old Boss models. Is it in good nick / parts missing etc? Which postcode are you in?

Oh god, I feel awful now :(

I am really sorry, Steve!
Dave, I did send you a message on vacuumland to arrange collection, if it came through it should be in the top bar were all the forums are, it is on the far right side and says "msg". :)

DC07 & DC01

Hi Dave

I will collect the DC07 and also the DC01 for Ultimatevacman. Sent you a private message and expect this to be the first couple of weeks of May as working some funny shifts over this time.

Electrolux

I have the Electrolux in front of me now...

It is badged as 'The Boss Lite' 1500W I am trying to work out whether it's black or VERY dark blue... It's a 'bagless/cyclone'type. It has a 'double-sided' triangular brush/hard spreader attachment, though the hard plastic 'extension tube' is currently missing (I'm fairly sure it was with it when it arrived, I will have a look around). Other than that it appears to be complete, and the brush is not badly worn. It is just generally very dusty/dirty as may be expected from something in storage for about ten years.

As I have said previously, I have never used it, and would recommend that it is checked over before being put back into service.

For 'Madabouthoovers', I'm in the ST5 area......

Thank you ALL for your (quite overwhelming) interest

Dave T

By the way, Whats the DC01 serial number? I might be able to work out if its got an Ametek or YDK motor

More info.....

DC01 serial number:- 600-A-337756

Alexhoovers has collected his TP3

I have found a small 'lozenge shaped' brush, which I think goes with the Electrolux (same colour plastic, anyway).

Not yet found the 'extension tube', which, I gather, is called a 'Wand' in Vacuumspeak...... ;)

All best, and thanks for your continued interest

Dave T

Hi Dave, Thanks so much for the TP3 :D

This is what you showed me in your car, right? it is called the Hoover Portapower, the were from the 1970's, I believe. But not certain as I am not really into those or know much about them, I know one when I see one though. :P
