Eureka Superlite

Never had a brush roll burn out on my old Yellow one yet but that info is good to know and I owned and kept mine for more than 10 years. But then I was forever worried that it would clog and constantly checked the base plate. I adored the small removable pick out acrylic base plate often picking out things like paper or a bit of clogged cardboard. I liked the soft bristles though - they seemed to get everything up in terms of dust and dirt to my eye, even though it isn't a deep cleaning upright vac, it's a good little compromise for any buyer who needs a very lightweight upright in a small place.

I notice that on the Power Cyclone I just bought, it has a similar clear small base plate but it has two crosshead screws that have to be removed which isn't as helpful as the original Superlite.

Yes, but if you're in the UK you could buy an Electrolux Powerlite upright too or any mainstream larger upright vac. My point about the Eureka (and everyone elses by their posts) is that this is a much smaller upright vacuum compared to a main sized model. That Powerforce may be great for average homes but for student dorms etc, the Superlite and the one I've bought would be battling the same kind of market that the old Dirt Devil Roommate (and their countless Dynamite vacs since) covet.

I see that the U;S also had the Electrolux Z411 under the Boss tag. I think I prefer my silver version though. The more I use this Electrolux, the more it reminds of the Vax Mach Air. Though clearly different by the filter design, there's a lot of copying going on just with the brush roll on/off function, slim design and weight.

Boss Pro 411 to be exact.
