I have been lucky enough to end up with a vac n seal food storage system. I hear they are incredibly rare ( unless I am wrong). My example is new in box with all the original paperwork, including the dealer paperwork. It seems very well made as with all MD manufacturing products. I am considering building it in if my Nana builds a new house, although I think it might be a bad idea incase it gets damaged. The best part is that it was kindly given to me. The man from Kiwivac is very kind and generous.

I remember those! I've never seen one in real life and I also have not seen very much content of it online either.

They do seem really cool, but I can't imagine that they would have worked very well, unless used with a series dual motor vacuum unit. Vacuum sealers operate at a much higher vacuum level than vacuum cleaners, which means that they can remove much more air, and create a better sealed (and therefore better preserved) product. I imagine that could be part of why they didn't really become very popular, since FoodSavers did become popular, in addition to Ziplocs.

That being said, I think the idea of having a built in vacuum sealing system would be so cool and convenient.
