My grandparents had all passed before I was born, so I only know what my mother owned and my two aunts (dad's sisters).

My mother was married for ten years before they got me. When she first got married, she and my father went to Sears (like everyone else in the early 50's) and bought an 'on sale' round Kenmore canister that used 5011 bags and had the top opening hatch to change the disposable bag.

In '58, my parents had a friend who got a job selling Compact, and he sold one to my parents. It was a C-4 with the hassock, polishaire, and magic disc.

Right before I came along, my mother and father bought a model D Rainbow. The Rainbow was the one I remember being so in love with. I learned to read from the instruction manual.

The Compact stayed in its hassock in the living room and really didn't get used. The Kenmore was already the 'basement' vacuum when I came along. I did play with it a lot down there, keeping myself busy for hours using the attachments, cleaning the furnace filter, vacuuming the garage floor, etc.

One of my father's sisters was married to a lawyer. They built their house in '57 and bought a new Electrolux Automatic F for the cleaning lady (Miss Thorberg) to use. It replaced a model 12 Electrolux. She had her AF until she passed away. She kept it in the box, which is where it is right now, but with me.

My other aunt lived with us until I was six. When she bought her condo, she bought the bottom of the line Sunbeam - It was blue with a single fan Lamb motor. She had that until she passed away. I didn't care for it, and didn't keep it when she died.

My parents have both passed, and yes, I do still have the Compact and the Rainbow. The Kenmore I have is the same model my mother bought but not that exact machine, which went to a church rummage sale when I was about 12 years old.

Cole, I see we're spreading beyond parents/grandparents

Fun! Well, then, my father's family were Electrolux people, as a rule. They were from N Carolina.
An occasional Hoover would be found.

On my mother's side, EVERYONE had Hoover cleaners: models 28, 67, 69 (several members had these), 70, 1070, 1076, newer plastic Convertibles, too, a few Connies, etc....
Almost everyone had and used attachments, too.
I have a few of their original machines to this day.
If the cleaners could talk...........................

A variety, mostly Electrolux

I grew up with an Electrolux XXX, my maternal grandmother had one too.

Somewhere in the family there was an Electrolux salesman so.........Grandma had a XXX which came to my Mom when Grandma died. Aunt Janie had an LX, Aunt Rita had an LX too. Aunt Jo had an LX as well.

When Mom's XXX wore out she bought a Kenmore with power nozzle in the 60's, that didn't last very long and she bought a Hoover Convertible. Then back to Lux.

Aunt Lorraine had a Eureka Gold Crown. Aunt Bobbie had a Constellation and then a Lux 1205.

A few relatives had Compacts.

My paternal grandmother had a Kenmore "bomb" with the pointed nose. I was scared silly of it. When I was a toddler and they wanted me to be still, they put me on the couch with the Kenmore in front of the couch!

When that died, Grandma got another Kenmore straight suction.

I have most of these models/brands in my collection and use them often. They bring so many wonderful memories flooding back.

Forgot to add parents! and I’ll add siblings.

While I mentioned our family is Electrolux all the way, I failed to notice the thread mentions parents also and not just grandparents and while I mentioned my Mother has her Mother’s Olympia One to this day, my parents actually have 6 additional Electrolux’s as they have 2 two story homes with basements. Each level of each home has an Electrolux on it and one home, we have two in the basement. 3 of which were purchased new, my Grandmother bought a Model S and gave it to my Mother when she got married. My Mother bought herself a Model L to have the power nozzle after getting new yellow carpet in the house, and I remember the salesman selling it to her, I was maybe 3 or 4 at the time. Still has it today. And the third purchase was my Grandmother buying the Olympia One my Mother has on the main level of their primary home.

Others were obtained from the Town “gift shop”. A pair of sheds on the town transfer and recycling center property specifically designed as a free leave and take of perfectly good things. These include a white model L, a blue model L, a Silverado deluxe, and an Ambassador. Those all reside at my parents house. From there we also obtained a nice 1205 which we passed on to my Brother and his ex wife took when they divorced, a Model G which I have, and a Golden Jubilee which turned out to have a bad motor that was drawing too much power. Oh, and a model E that was traded free of charge by our friendly Electrolux man for a Gold Model L that was passed on to my Sister.

I’ve had a Silverado that I gave away, another Silverado I bought in 1994 and still have. A Diamond Jubilee I gave away to a close friend. I had a Model L I sold to my housekeeper, a model E I gave to a friend, currently have a model AF which I just painted hammered gold. I bought an LX at an estate sale but gave it away to someone I wish I never had given it to who didn’t deserve it. I currently have my Paternal Grandmother’s model XXX, currently have a beautiful scratch and dent free Marquise, a model G, an Aerus Lux Classic I gave to my Brother last Christmas to replace his dying brown 1453, and he also has a Silverado...and my creme de la creme...a barely used Lux Legacy I picked up last fall at Habitat for humanity.

My Sister has the CentraLux full set of attachments as she moved into a house with a central vacuum in 2004 and the hose with it was from 1978 and too short, the turbo nozzle did nothing but stall on carpet so my Mother bought her the Aerus Lux central vacuum attachment set new. She moved and coincidentally the new house also has a central vacuum system but it’s much better but she took the Aerus hose and attachments anyway because I told her they are very good and since the new house is multi story she could keep a set on each level.

So we have a LOT of Electrolux’s in the family. There’s been more that have passed through, another 1205 which we gave to my Aunt’s partner.. three model G’s, and another Golden Jubilee. I think that’s the final total...so far! Too many to count!

My Mother has also had a few Regina Electrikbrooms, a Hoover Quick Broom, and now has a few Eureka quick ups, One is straight suction, one has the power brush.

Parents and grandparents vacuums

Hi guys,

The machines my parents and grandparents had will be a little different because we all live in britain.

My great grandmother on my mothers side had a Hoover senior 612 from 1949 and she had a few cleaners before that but thats the earliest one I can remember. Alongside the 612 she had a Hoover dustette model 100 which she bought alongside the 612 and they had the same colour scheme and were both from the same year so I think they were meant to be sold together. When my mothers parents got married they didnt have much money so my great grandmother passed down her senior 612 and dustette. I cant remember what my great grandmother got after that. Fast forward to the 1980s and my mothers parents traded in the 612 and dustette at a vacuum shop for a brown hoover turbopower soft bag. And then we come to 1992 when my great grandmother bought a Vax powa 4000 which I still have today. It cost a bomb but she was well off so that didnt bother her. The only problem was it was too complicated for her and she didnt know how to use it and it sat unused in its box until I got it in the mid 2000s. She had an ultra smart vac which she liked as she found it easier to push, it was basically a straight suction stick vac but she liked it and could push it which was the main thing. This was the last machine my great grandmother ever owned as she died in 2007 from a lung infection due to smoking. Dont smoke guys! Then we move onto my great grandpa who is my grandmothers father. I only ever remember him having 2 machines, a Hoover aquamaster S4470 which he bought sometime in the 80s and had until 2008 and he only ever used it for vacuuming never carpet shampooing not even once. And after that he had a Dyson DC24 which he bought in 2008 and only had for 2 years as sadly he died in 2010. My mothers parents got rid of the Turbomaster in the mid 90s and replaced it with a dyson DC01 in about 1995. The hose split on that which was a weak spot but they didnt know you could buy replacement hoses so they threw it out and bought another DC01! Then the motor went on the DC01 in about 2004 and they bought a DC04. The hose split on that aswell so they ended up buying another one just like they did with the DC01! After the second DC04 broke they bought a DC07 which they had until about 2014 when the hose split and they were just fed up with it and wanted a change. So in 2014 she bought a vax power 3 bagless upright which she still has as its looked after and maintained so it works fine, and thats all her machines up to date. Moving on to my dads side, I never met my great grandparents on his side so I couldnt tell you what machines they had. But my dads parents had a Hoover turbopower Junior, which was a really budget soft bag version of the Turbopower but they liked it because it was lightweight because of the soft bag. After that they bought a Hoover Purepower, I dont know the model but it was bright yellow, and he had that until about 2008 when it gave up the ghost. He then bought an Electrolux Vitesse bagless upright which was awful, it was loud, the pleated paper hepa filter used to clog so it had poor suction, but it was light which is why they liked it. They then bought a bagless Vax cylinder which they had for a few years, it worked well for the first 2 years bought after that is started getting a clogged cyclone for some reason. It wasnt ideal anyway because the house is fully carpeted apart from the kitchen. Grandma then bought a vonhaus stick vacuum which is quite good which she still has now, its lightweight for her so she can push it and she can also carry it upstairs. When the Vax broke they bought another Vax, I know what your thinking, but it was a surprising choice. A Vax Commercial VCU-03C Bagged upright! No way in high heaven will grandma use it but grandad uses it and he is made up with it as he says it is a deep cleaner which it is. He says he can feel it doing a good job and he likes to hear the brush roll on the carpet. He also said he wanted to go back to bags as he was sick of the dust and mess when he had to empty the bagless vacuums. Recently I found a bagless cheap Hoover whirlwind that had only been used once, so I gave that to them as backup. Somewhere along the line they got a Hoover jovis plus corded handheld but I cant remember when. They use that for the stairs and car. They are very happy with their vacuums now and grandad uses the Vac commercial for giving the house a 'deep clean' and grandma uses the vonhaus stick vac or the lightweight Hoover whirlwind when she wants to vacuum. Lately she is favouring the whirlwind as it has a rotating brush roll where the vonhaus stick vacuum does not, so she says she feels like she is picking more muck up which she probably is. My parents originally got a Panasonic MCE-45 bagged upright when they moved in together in the 90s, and when they got married in 1998 they got a Dyson DC01 as a wedding gift. They had the Dyson and panasonic alongside each other for a while then the panasonic stopped working in about 2005 and then it was just the DC01. The DC01 then started overheating and cutting out (looking back it was probably just dirty filters!) And then they bought the dreaded Hoover the one which was absolutely awful. I think the Hoover the one is a vacuum cleaner any british collector will remember for being awful. It used to overheat and cut out all the time so it was binned in the end. Mum then bought a Dyson DC07 in 2007 which she still has now although she doesnt use it. She now has a morphy richards 73309 bagged upright which she likes because of the powerful suction and it is good on thick luxury carpet which is what we have in the lounge. She has that alongside an Electrolux stairmaster backsaver Z1362 that I rescued from the tip which she loves because mum has a bad back and she says it helps her and is easy to push. So there you go! A bit of family history for you all haha!

it's great that we all are so AWARE of what our families

had and used. There was an "array", right in front of us. like a vacuum buffet! I remember being in these homes when someone might say,"Would you run the vacuum cleaner for me"? SURE !
It's comforting, now, to either have the VERY MACHINES, or......... the same model.
Even a few years back, when someone would die, after cleaning up OR out, I'd get a call. "There are a few things on the closed in porch at... When you have time, stop by and get them". There would be dishes, Christmas decorations... and a great Hoover Convertible, model 69.
That's how I started to obtain "multiples" of a particular cleaner. They all knew to only give me the Hoovers. RARELY did a family member even own a different make.

Well, as for vacuums of aunts and uncles here's what I know:

At one aunt and uncle's house, they had a tan Hoover "Sprint" Elite-style hard bagged upright with the non-stretch hose that sort of just looped over the handle instead of having a side storage. Honestly I thought it was strange she'd have that machine as the house had very little if any carpeting. At their beach house they have a central vacuum of some kind, which may be a NuTone. I don't know what she has now or what she had prior to the Hoover.

My other aunt told me once what vacuums she had, when I asked once. But I now cannot remember exactly as that was 20 years ago! I think when she got married it was some kind of round metal canister, either a Sunbeam or Singer. Then I THINK she had a metal Eureka canister after that, and then in the early 90s she bought a TOL Kenmore Whispertone canister, black I think. As far as I know she still has that now, but maybe not. She was pretty proud of those vacuums to remember them all!

Forgot one...

I can't believe I forgot one family vacuum in my previous post (no. 12) and it was one that I actually ended up owning. My mom's mother had a red/orange Eureka Princess with power nozzle that ended up at my parents' house after she died in 1996 and they gave it to me when they moved the following year. That machine solidified my appreciation for a canister vacuum with a power nozzle as an alternative to an upright. I wish I still had that machine.

Lets see if I remember how this goes...

My Grandmother on my moms side only had Electrolux. She had Electrolux Model G with Power Nozzle. She then had an Ultra Lux and then a Discover III upright with attachements. She did have a Dirt Devil Hand vac with attachments. A couple of different times she tried different models. She had a Oreck, Fantom Thunder Regina Housekeeper and Bissell Cleanview. All of which she got rid of at quick as she got them.

My mom Mother In Law... She had Eureka Rotovac that looked like the canned ham. Eureka upright ESP bagged with rug dial. Singer Upright. Dirt Devil Breeze.

My mom. Oh good grief where do I start.

GE Swivel top gold. That was when we lived in the house before she got married. Regina Electric Broom and then the Electrolux Model G that was my Grandma's. She finally killed Grandma's model G and bought a Kenmore bottom of line canister power nozzle. Green Singer Upright vacuum, Green Regina Housekeeper. Grandma's Fantom Thunder. Baby Blue Dirt Devil Feather light. Bissell Power Force. Getting into current times. Dirt Devil Express Compact, Eureka green thing. Bissell Power Force bagged.

Hey, I forgot at least one too!
My mom had two Hoover Lark stick vacuums. I don't know how she came to have two of them at the same time. I'm pretty sure she eventually gave one of them to someone.
I didn't get to own either of them, although I would have liked to. I enjoyed playing with that one when I was small. She owned them at the same time as the Hoover Portable. The Lark must have been for small clean-ups where you didn't need to pull the big vacuum out.

My great grandmother had 2 vacuums a patriot and an Oreck she got rid of because it was hard to push, the other vacuum her patriot worked great till the power nozzle broke she then gave it to me (if you didn’t know a patriot is similar to a Tristar), My other Grandma had 3 a commercial oreck (She got rid of it because it was too heavy) another Oreck, and a handheld Oreck. Finally my great grandpa had a Dustbuster, A carpet sweeper, devil stick vacuum, and a Hoover elite. When he passed my uncle took the Hoover but I got the stick vacuum. All the photos of the vacuums are below (except one of my grandmas Orecks)

I still have most of the family vacuums.

On my moms side my grandmother only ever had one vacuum. A President which mom bought for her about 1954.

On dads side my grandmother had a Goblin Ace and a Regina Electric broom (I didnt get the electric broom but have found the same one under the Viking name)

My mom had a Lewyt while I was growing up and also used a Kenmore Whispertone I had been given. When I started work at Electrolux I bought her an Electrolux central vacuum.

The only family member I dont have vacuums from was my aunt as my cousin got her old machines and literally used them to death. She had a Shetland Lewyt, Electrolux 89, Electrolux AP100, Kirby Classic Omega, Filter Queen, Singer and, finally an Electrolux E2000

Parents And Grandparents' Vacuum Cleaners

When I was a kid, my parents had a model XXX Electrolux for their main vacuum, and a Kenmore model 116.730 for the basement and cleaning out cars. When I was selling Electro-Hygiene during my senior year in high school, I traded them both in for a model 966 Electro-Hygiene tank. Mom had bought a Wards shop vac a couple years before, so we really didn't need the Kenmore anymore. Several years later, she bought a 350 Filter Queen and an 858 Hoover Constellation at a sale at the apartment complex where she worked as the manager.
My paternal Grandparents had an Electrolux AE, which I'm pretty sure they bought new, and about 10 years later bought a Filtex. They lived in a two-story house and the Lux became their "upstairs vac" after they got the Filtex. However, when I used to go with my Aunt to help clean, I used the Lux on both floors, as I didn't care much for the Filtex.
My Maternal Grandmother had a model 82 Hoover Constellation that Grandpa bought for her for their 40th Anniversary in 1955. Unfortunately, it was their last anniversary before he passed away. She brought it with her when she moved in with us about 10 years later, and from then until she passed away it was only used to clean her room. It is now a cherished part of my collection.
The Lux XXX pictured here isn't Mom's, but is equipped the same as hers, with the optional sprayer, vaporizer, and polisher. I got it from ebay, as well as the Kenmore, which is missing the upholstery brush and polisher which slid on the upholstery nozzle. Also, my parents' Kenmore had a burgundy-colored box for the attachments instead of the cloth caddy. Although I have Mom's 966 Electro-Hygiene, the one pictured is one I got at an estate sale and is actually older than Mom's. The 350 Filter Queen and the 858 Constellation were Mom's, and I got them when she moved from her house to her apartment.
The Electrolux AE pictured here is not my Paternal Grandparents but was given to me from Tom Anderson years ago. Theirs didn't have the cordwinder. As I mentioned before, the 82 Constellation is my Maternal Grandmother's, and is in almost new condition, except that the brush strip on the rug nozzle is worn down, the tool caddy is kind of beat up, and the hose is permanently stretched from decades of being hung in the closet. And by the way, the table that the 82 is sitting on in the pics was also new in 1955, bought by my parents after they bought their first house!

My family

I was born in ‘84 so I will only go back that far as I have no idea prior to that. My dad’s mom had an Electrolux Silverado bought from the door to door salesman around 1982. She used it for many years. Sometime in the mid to late 2000’s the power nozzle burnt up and she got a Shark Navigator and the Electrolux was sent upstairs to use on her Berber carpet with the bare floor tool. She has had about 3 Sharks now, her last purchased in the last 6 months in a hunter green color she really likes that was popular in the late 90’s that I was surprised to see on a modern vacuum. When she started having trouble with the ON/OFF switch on the Electrolux a few years ago she gave it to me. I cleaned the switch and it works fine. I only have the original woven hose and a crevice tool with it so I really have never used it but figure I could use it to clean out a car.
My mom’s mom had an Electrolux Marquis (I think I know it was a light gold color and she got it in the mid 80s) also bought from the door to door salesman. She had that up until 2000 when she bought a Royal 4700 tank which she gave to me in 2009 when I bought my house. At that time she bought a Sebo upright that she is still using.
Lastly, my mom for some reason I am less clear on what she had when I was younger (I just didn’t care and I think they were probably cheaper models that didn’t last all that long. I only remember my grandma’s because they had them for so many years. Some time in the mid 90’s my great grandma gave my mom her Electrolux Super J or Olympia One (it was gold or brown) and she used that until 2000 when she got her Meile canister in light yellow. She still uses that on her bare floors downstairs and she uses a Riccar upright she’s had for around 10 years upstairs on the carpeting.

My Family’s Machines…

So my family’s vacuum history has a few holes in it (mostly because most of my family members can’t remember or have passed). It starts with my dad’s parents got a brand new Airway 66 as a wedding gift in 1952. They used that for years, but I don’t know what happened to it. I do however have one in my collection now thankfully. My mom’s family traveled a bit throughout the Midwest and had a couple notable machines. The first being my grandmother had a Kirby model R. I’ve only seen one picture of it and it was in the background and peaking out of a closet during a birthday party. My mom told me that it was my great grandmother’s and then it got passed down to my grandmother. I thought it was a Royal for the longest time because my mom had told me that it had a switch in the handle, but then I saw the picture and confirmed it was indeed a Kirby. My mom’s family eventually replaced the R with a Hoover Constellation 454 and an upright, but no one remembered what the upright was. Much later, my mom’s family got a used Kirby 561 and then used that for years while they lived in Idaho. When my grandparents moved to Washington when I was born, they had another bagged upright, but unfortunately no one remembered that one either. It wasn’t till later in the 90s that my parents bought my grandmother a new Eureka Powerline Bravo, which didn’t end up being used much because it was so loud. Unfortunately that one got donated after my grandmother was moved into a nursing home. As for vacuums that my mom had, she always told me that she’d had a stick vac, but couldn’t remember what it was. My dad, however, bought a brown hooded Hoover Convertible with the big headlight when he moved up to the Seattle area and had it until my family had a garage sale in the early 2000s and sold it. My uncle and his wife also bought a brand new Kirby Classic 1-CR from a Kirby salesman back in the early 70s after they got married. My parents were also in Amway and sold the CMS-1000 and Clear Trak, so we had a couple of each of those until my dad retired them when my mom passed and continued using a much later Bissell bagless and a Dyson DC-25, which he is using to this day.

In 1985, the year I was born. My relatives were not using new vacuums. The exception being my mother and great-grandmother who were using Hoover Convertibles that were fairly recent for the time. (see post above).

Even though I'm not yet 40. I'm so thankful I wasn't born in the cheap Walmart Bissell plastic crap era that continues today.

My grandparents had

A variety to pick from! Haha
Dad's parents had a rust and white Hoover Concept One, a Celebrity QS in the same color scheme, a Dirt Devil Vision Swivel Glide with the red white and blue brush roll, a few Swivel Sweepers, and a DD Swift Stick. Ooh, and my favorite 70s ish Bissell carpet sweeper that made the most entertaining popping noise going over the rug due to the dust trays trying to open 😂

My mom's parents had a Compact C6 that is now in my collection, a Eureka ESP 2091D, and a Filtex central vac branded under the M&S Distributors label. The central vacuum didn't get used often due to the fact that it was ridiculously loud and had no suction, so the Compact and Eureka were frequent flyers. Funny enough I just picked up a Eureka 2090A that's a carbon copy of the one she had, aside from the Chrome handle and dial a nap instead of a rugulator. The C6 still runs as sweet as can be, and both of which will be treasured for years to come!
A couple pics of the ESP for your enjoyment are attached!

From my mom's side, my grandparents had several machines. A 1994 Kirby G4 80th Anniversary Edition, a red 2004 Dirt Devil Jaguar bagless upright, a blue Kirby Tradition, a black Kenmore Progressive Direct Drive, a red Dirt Devil 103 hand vac, a red 10 gallon Shop Vac, a brown Hoover Steamvac Deluxe, a couple vintage 80's B&D Dust Busters one brown and one almond I think, and I believe a Bissell Power Steamer since I remember that carpet cleaner was a canister. Now I have their G4, Kenmore, hand vac, Shop Vac, and Hoover. Before my grandparents got the G4, they had two older brown Kirbys. I don't know what models they were but from what I was told, it could've been either two 1-CR, two 1-CB Omegas, or one of each. Many years ago when I toured at my grandmother's parents' home, I've seen a floor tool and wands that looked like it belonged on an Electrolux. My grandmother confirmed to me that she grew up with one, my best guess would've been a XXX model but I could be wrong. And there was also a vintage grey Bissell push sweeper that I ended up taking home with me but unfortunately later got rid of. I wish I still had it today.

From my dad's side, they also had several machines as well. A green 1982 Vacumaid P-125 central vac, a brown 2001 Hoover Steamvac Gold, a black Hoover Supreme 12.5 gallon wet dry vac, a grey Shark cordless sweeper, and a red/white Black & Decker Dust Buster. They used to have a white/blue Black & Decker Dust Buster I believe was a VersaPak version. At my grandfather's cabin, he has a green Kenmore 2621 canister which I'm gonna try to exchange it for something else since the vacuum got flooded this past winter, a red/white Hoover Floormate, a Craftsman CMXEVBE17594 12 Gallon, and a grey Black & Decker Lithium Dustbuster that's likely going to be thrown out cause it got flooded this past winter and I don't know if it works anymore. He also had a blue Hoover Widepath bagless upright, a red Shop Vac QPV 16 gallon Pump Vac, a yellow Shop Vac 16RTP550A, another grey Shark cordless sweeper that's the same thing as the one at the house, and a white/green Black & Decker Dust Buster similar to the white/blue one at his house but it's not a VersaPak version. Now I only have the white/green B&D. And he used to have a Dirt Devil upright that took type D bags and 4/5 belts and a vintage Shop Vac that had a metal orange can and detachable blower like my parent's. I don't know what models they were cause I've never seen them before but I've seen the box of the Shop Vac and bags/belts of the Dirt Devil.

And my parents had several machines. My mom said that back in college she had a red Sanitaire upright for her apartment. When she married my dad in 1984 and moved into their first house, she got one of my grandparents' brown Kirbys. Sometime they got a vintage orange/black Shop Vac 6 gallon similar to my grandfather's. And they were given a black Kirby Split Second from a Heritage II for their car. When they moved into the house they live in now, they had a grey Beam 287S central vac put in so they gave the brown Kirby back to my grandparents. Later they got a black Black & Decker PowerPro Dust Buster and a green Bissell Little Green 1653-4. When they bought their first cabin in 1995, they got a green Sharp from my old local vacuum store. I believe it was a Twin Energy Big Wheel. They also got a white Black & Decker Dust Buster with green and blue decals from what I recall. And a Bissell Little Green 1720-1. A year later the Sharp got replaced by a black Panasonic Performance Plus MC-V7387. Then I think a year before we sold the cabin in 2003, we replaced the Dust Buster with another one that was white/blue and it was definitely a VersaPak version. Back at home since I'm going through this at a timeline, in 1998 we built a storage shed with one of our neighbors we share with and got a Eureka The Boss CV1801G central vac for each side. In 2003, we got a blue Bissell GoVac. Before our second cabin was finished being built, we were temporary staying in our 1997 TrailManor 3124 and it had a grey Black & Decker DirtVac. When our cabin was finished, we brought the Dust Buster and Little green with us from our first cabin but we left the Panasonic behind as we installed in a white Silent Master central vacuum. Unfortunately the central vac wasn't finished yet so we had the contractors lend us one of their machines which was a Eureka The Boss Power I believe cause it was a black 12 amp Bravo that was hard bag and had a headlight, it got finished I believe at our second visit. Then a year before we sold the place in 2007 we later got a I believe was a black Oase PondoVac Classic for cleaning out our pond we had. Back at home, we sold our TrailManor in 2004 and got a 2004 KZ Frontier 2405 so we bought a green Eureka Optima to replace the DirtVac that we later brought up to our cabin also just shortly before we sold that place. In 2005, we replaced the PowerPro with a red Dirt Devil Quick Power I believe. That same year, we also bought a grey Shark cordless sweeper just like my grandfather's after using his to replace the GoVac. And that same year as well, we bought a green SpotBot to replace our Little Green. Took it back a day later and exchanged it with a blue Bissell Proheat 2X. In 2008 I believe, we replaced the Quick Power for a blue/clear Dirt Devil Accucharge that's the same thing. In 2011, we got a yellow Shop Vac QSP 18 gallon. In 2013 I believe, we bought a green Swiffer Sweeper Vac to replace the Shark. That same year, we bought a blue Hoover Floormate. In 2014 I believe, we bought a blue Shark hand vac for our boats that never got used so it's still in it's box today. That same year, we replaced the Accucharge for a red Dirt Devil Easy Lite. In 2018, we replaced our Little Green for a Hoover Spotless FH11300. That same year, we sold our Frontier and bought a KZ Connect C281BH trailer. The Optima got replaced with originally a yellow Eureka Mighty Mite 3670G but I sold it and bought a green Bissell Big Green BGC3000 instead. In 2020 I believe, we replaced the Easy Lite for a red Black & Decker Lithium Dustbuster. In 2021, we replaced the Spotless for a Hoover PowerDash GO Pet. In 2023 so last year, we replaced the Swiffer for a Hompany we're using now. And finally this year, we got another Black & Decker Lithium Dust Buster but in white. We also bought a EyeVac Touchless this year as well but returned it.

One grandma had an Electrolux Ambassador 2, which I no longer have. I bought an Ambassador 3 from Ebay for the nostalgia. My other grandma had a Eureka Ironsides, which I still have. My parents had a central vacuum, which of course stayed in the house when they sold it. It was a Soluvac unit and had Electrolux hose, PN and tools.
My parents also had a Hoover Spirit, which I still have, though it's very beat up. It was the garage/car cleaning vac for a number of years, so got banged around quite a bit.

My paternal grandmother used her Eureka Model 9 straight suction machine and her walnut Bissell "Grand Rapids" sweeper until her passing at the age of 97 in 1969. My maternal grandmother, who was much used a 1946 General Electric DeLuxe and a Bissell "Sweepmaster" of 1937 vintage . Mom had a General Electric "Roll-Easy". Her sister, my aunt, had a Hoover Constellation. I still have the Eureka Model 9.
