Electrolux with bilingual labels?

I found this Electrolux several weeks ago at the thrift store. I've been restoring it. I'm guessing it's from the mid or late 80s? Anyhow, the machine and PN both have English and French labelling. However, inside the bag door states it was made in Georgia. I'm confused by the French labels as I hadn't noticed this before. It has a cloth hose and a PN 6A as well as the Sidekick.

Hmmm could have been for sale in Canada where most things are labelled in French/English.. at least the brochures and operating instructions that come with any appliance are come in both languages.
My GE washer for example, all the dial controls are in both languages but my KitchenAid stove controls are just English on the stove itself.

That would be either a Grand Marquis or a Legacy (They both looked the same - just different power nozzles) They were out in 1989 and 1990. This was when the so called "Free Trade" agreement came into being. Resulting in the Canadian Plant being closed so they could produce everything in the US. These were the first US made machines sold in Canada (Hence the English / French labelling) and they bombed big time. They were way too heavy compared to the previous Canadian machines. The Model 90 and Ambassador (based on the Canadian design) were the step down machines at the time (With very poor motors) and we sold them at a ratio of about 5 to 1 to the so called "delux machines". This was a total reversal as, before these came out, the delux machines like the System 90, sold at about a 10 to 1 ratio to the step down versions. That resulted in a scramble to reintroduce the Canadian styled Diplomat in their place in late 1990

Ultralux/Grand Marquise

I have an Ultralux/Grand Marquise awaiting restoration that has both French and English labeling on its controls.

BTW, if anyone has a top deck (the plastic part on top of the machine where the On/Off buttons are) for this machine, I am anxiously looking for one. The one on this machine is broken. It's identical to the top deck on the Diamond Jubilee, except for the bilingual labeling. I am, of course, looking for the correct part.

made in Georgia?

Factory was in CT starting in 30s.Then the old Burroughs adding machine factory building in Bristol,VA was added in early 70s making Mo L,B-8 and first uprights.Then all manufacturing was moved from CT to VA in 90s.By then the CT factory was considered outdated and the Bristol factory was remodeled with new equipment.The GA address was the new home office which was moved from Stamford,Ct.Last metal body elux was 93.
