Miele's

I have an S2 - S2111 to be precise. For the price I paid (£99.99) it's a brilliant compact cleaner, I use it for most things, and I rarely have to use full power.

I'm hopefully getting an S6 soon, so the the S6 can be used downstairs and the S2 upstairs!

AO.com

Very good place are AO.com, my gran got a fridge from their the other day, it was delivered free the next day!

The S6210 is the same price, and I'm after that soon...

Thanks Chris for that info on the X1.1 that's great to know. You've all got me thinking about getting an X1.1 over the X4. Was going to ask about using the turbo brush on the X1.1 especially with the extension hose or just the main hose. Longs it works ok I've always got my Felix I can use the turbo brush with.

I take it from what I remember your boyfriends new SEBO was a X1.1 wasn't it Chris? I was quite surprise too how much dust it picked up when you cut open the bag! Mine you SEBO's are great at cleaning!

Hi Jon,

You're absolutely right, my other half got an x1.1. We only paid £175 for it. We're moving in together at the end of May, so we'll have 2.

Beckham, I'd go for the D2 over the Miele. Suction is pretty much the same, but the D2 is far more solid and the bags are enormous and will last you a lot longer.

Thanks for the recommendation, love the simple look of the D2 anyway. Plus the 12m cord!

2 Sebos in 1 house?! God that house won't know what's hit it! :D

Thanks hi-loswitch98 for the link appreciate it.

You sound as bad as me trying to make a decision on which one! I would go for the SEBO D2 Storm especially if they are the same price. Depends on what you are looking for? Could the SEBO be to big in size compared to the S5, although the SEBO's running costs I would think would be cheaper! I'd go with the SEBO D2 Storm myself if it was me! I just love SEBO's lol!

I considered the D2 Storm before I went for the Total version - but then I figured I'd be spending £25 excess for the same extra tools as you get a main size turbo brush PLUS the stair cleaning turbo brush as well standard suction only floor head.

The D2 Total is a general all rounder - the Storm is the basic model, but still as effective if you can live without turbo brush tools.

When you consider how long Miele have been at it making cylinder vacs, SEBO design always surprises me - the all metal tubes on the D series for example aren't as heavy as Miele's standard ones and SEBO's main turbo brush floor head is also much lighter to push on carpeting.

I'll go for the D2. Because it has cheaper running costs, longer cord & hose, & I can live without the Turbo Tools because we only have short pile carpet.

I would have guessed Sebo are the more commercial brand out of them & Miele. I can aso see why the D2 would win an award for its design, it looks like it's designed by someone who has actually used a vacuum, shame the same cant be said for a few machines on the market.

Hi Chris , I did wonder if it wasa X1.1 from what I could remember reading the thread. Great performance from what it picked up that's good to see the 150 watt difference is not noticeable if that's what it collected in the bag! That's a great price you got the X1.1 for I've seen it at £199.99. Will look around. Great thing with the SEBO I can upgrade the pre filter to charcoal if I want. Aww 2 SEBO's in one house cool one for each floor like you say! Hope the move goes ok.

Thanks

Jon

Ah, thank you Jon :).

I'll get some snaps of the new place up in Off-Topic once I've moved, especially of the utility room lol.

Yes, we're using the 2 Sebo's in the house and then the Dirt Devil Handy for the stairs. Not sure which one will go on which floor yet, but we'll match it with the decor ;)
