IMG_0859.jpegHi to all the vintage vac enthusiasts here, I thought I share my experience of Electrolux Aus built vacuum cleaners made in glen waverly Victoria, this one has always been my favourite ( probably boring to most) the 1970s automatic model 331 $156 in 1976 still in use paper bag inside cloth bag faithful beast,

I have a few other Electrolux models including a rare Electrolux rebuild model which Godfrey’s took over later on,

I also have the green 338 cord retractable same as the 331 I think it was made in NZ and from memory was sold here as the green Goblin following the previous model called ambassador , it’s interesting to note that Australia sold Electrolux vacuum here also called Volta which wasn’t sold door to door and mostly was a budget item lacking features like cord retractable the power supply light etc , my favourite is the Volta red devil which is again I believe a NZ built Electrolux model , this is only my opinion, I did spend a lot of time visiting the Electrolux vacuum shop back in the late 80s and learned a lot about them as well as being given a salesman booklet of all the Electrolux models which had colour identification in a tiny book, unfortunately long lost, otherwise vacuum cleaner your opinion very much appreciated

Volta is a subsidiary of Electrolux AB. They shared many models over the years.

Welcome! I have a few of the 300 series as well and am also in Adelaide. I have a copy of the instruction booklet for the 331 as well as an original purchase receipt.

The Volta version of the 300 series was called the 175 - it had a different pedal arrangement with no gap between the on-off and cord rewind and a different exhaust grille - below is a pic of one I restored a while back.

The Volta vacs also had more basic tools - plastic crevice tool instead of the soft grey rubber and a single multi function floor tool. But the two-way winged brush and the wands were identical.

That's a good looking vacuum you have there.

Welcome and thanks for posting! I think your Z331 is sharp; its mustard yellow color reminds me of the UK's model Z312, but I'm guessing it has the same styling as the UK model Z330.
