Hey everyone, I thought I’d throw this up here as the newest to me vacuum cleaner in my collection, it’s the same kind of colour as a late 1940s early 1950s hoover Dustette Hey everyone, I thought I’d throw this up here as the newest to me vacuum cleaner in my collection, it’s the same kind of colour as a late 1940s early 1950s hoover Dustette/model 612 vacuum, but this one is one I have really not seen before So I’m wondering can people has a bit of a squiz and a think Is that this might be a predecessor to the tri-star/PennockPIs that this might be a predecessor to the tri-star/Pinnock vacuum cleaners As this machine has all the air exhausted out the blower Port Instead of through side Vents And the pre-motor filter is held on with a single wingnutbAnd the pre-motor filter is held on with a single wingnut

Similar to the Compact / Tri Star design but too many differences to have been made by them. Probably a Knock off (I doubt that Interstate would have had their stuff patented in Australia at that time so the basic design would have been fair game there)

Does anyone have the outside dimensions of a compact Tri-Star bag (the cloth one)

I don't have the dimension but it should fit  i  think.

Good news and bad news,

Good news is I figured out how I can get the original plug off and replace it with something that would potentially be a much better fit hell even potentially just a double pin set up, I in the same way how a two prong kettle plug Connects to its mail socket, Bad news though after figuring out how to try and get the motor out to check it and the brushes, the little bumper band which had two springs in it and twoJ style clips ,the springs had broken in the ends of the band And one had decided to go flying off to a corner of the room, I’ll see if I can try and potentially just get the springs out and figure out a different way how to get the bumper to sit on The seam where the 2 halves meet, It looks like I could potentially use some of that elastic curtain wire and slide that through the bumper where the springs were previously and then attach it that way, as it’s almost basically the same concept so that might work but I’m not sure and unlike previous vacuums that I have disassembled to check the motor such as the pye rotoVac and the GE swivel top, this particular vacuum has some sort of seam construction that I have not seen before I tried and doing all the visible screws that are on the outside but that didn’t get me anywhere, so I put them all back in the original spots

the screws  could be in the wheel  opening like  a compact would have

But then how does one remove the wheels?

Plus cause I thought that this vacuum comes apart into halves with the bumper hiding the screws But that isn’t what it is on this machine

The

Center bumper where the motor filter connects to the motor. The outside there is screws on the under half of the bumper.

Here is an diagram. The screws are in the second picture right next to the wheels. The third is on the back end where the pigtail connects.

I think with my machine they literally just hold the wheel

Bet the screws are long and it holds your body together. The motor housing motor mount has 2 screws golding it in which is the same 2 screws that hold everything together.
