That's a groovy '60s Hoover with what some have dubbed the Mickey Mouse hood style. It appears to be a model 5131 D.I. (with a double insulated cord). The rating plate is typically on the bottom and viewable when the brush that conceals it is removed. It sold alongside the Bittersweet Convertible Special model 34 and Constellation model 444, so that is likely the color name of your hood. The 5131 sans the D.I. designation has a hood color of Light Venetian Gold. Marketing years were 1964 to 1968, but no ads I located included the D.I. designation or any colors.
Regarding the mop-like brushes, you could try using lambs wool pads like those in the attached photo.
