Typical!

Just put mine in storage, but have found a pic of the serial number - 276228, ISTR it dated her to sometime in 1960, she's got white bellows on her, and the darker footswitch.

Congratuations on an ace find though guys, slippery slope ahoy!

I love the sound of those one speed 652s, seem a bit mellower than the later machines. Having said that, I'm very tempted to hotrod mine and fit a two speed motor and the tool suction improver I have on my 6525C, because even though she's a beauty, using her hose is like fighting a losing battle... and I have spare hoods if it goes into meltdown!!!

Didn't the early 652s have 'Hoover' on the wrong side of the bag, ie by the cord hooks?

nice find

anyone else noticed the screw in thread 4 that should not be there ? .I have never seen one with the red switch before .Just imagine back in 1959 seeing one of these in a shop window after all the brown stuff heres my three the grey 652a has been in the family since new although its bag is long gone the blue one was i wreck that i recently did up and the green one is my latest find.I am going to make a green bag for it soon its not difficult if you know your way around a sewing machine and it wont be too hard to find pink cloth i made a bag for my 612 a while ago i made a stencil for the logo out of wide masking tape carefully cut out the letters with a razor blade then sprayed coat after coat till i got the desired effect you can see the 612 in the photo

fabulous machines

I think that really is a great cosmetic resto of the senior looks brilliant seeing all three vac's together like that in the pinks, has got a wow factor for me brilliant.
very 1950s fashion is pink and white you will find that in cars of the period too, especially in america.

I suspect Hoover may of taken some of these trends of design in colour from the car world, along with shapes.

You can also tell this from the 30's hoover's also.

Im seriously envious of the collection you have there

Did you or anyone else notice the spider or spider like insect in the second picture that you posted with the serial number? Yikes!
