It is actually TRUE that dirty bagged uprights collect far more dust and in turn often require their dust bags to be emptied more frequently. That in turn means more pay out for dust bags, and paper ones at that. Im surprised Hoover hasn't offered a synthetic dust bag but then they're always out to make money...

An example of this is when the original Turbopower bags had the reuseable pull seal on them. I found the reusable shake out style was useful to a point - but the paper still clogged up too much to be relied upon a second time.

However, here's where the Junior and Senior fought back "in the day," though. Whereas the Turbopower has something like, 6.5 litre dust capacity, the humble little Junior and Senior offers 9 litres capacity per bag and if you have ever allowed the bags to fill completely on both the Powerplus top fill uprights and Junior U1036 and others fitted with the top fill tube, the bags can be completely choked with dust.

Cloth bags were also available for the Junior and Senior. I found it strange that they weren't available for the Turbopower or let alone TP2 series. Nice to see the return on the Purepower Lifetime model though.

Im surprised though that brush rolls are not available for the Turbopower, either. You see brush strip replacements are getting scarce now for the Junior and Senior/Powerplus, but they are still available. Not so with the Turbopower though.

And lets face it, the Junior and Senior are no longer on sale.[this post was last edited: 9/2/2015-18:51]

nice video, Emma!

Just one little tip - I think the reason the bag door release was playing up is because part of the bag got caught in the side of the door when you were putting it back on

Thank you.

After filming I noticed that part did get caught.

Sorry if what I said offended you etc. What I said was rather daft [this post was last edited: 9/3/2015-14:26]

Idk your probably right. Refused the offer even it was for £5, all working and with tools. Got a Dyson instead 😂

Some very interesting points Emma, great video!

I agree about the wand. I have an additional extension tube for mine that I put straight onto the end of the hose cuff. It doesn't have the chunky handle on the end of it, so it's much easier to use. When I'm doing the stairs or the sofa, I use the tools straight onto the end of cuff. The one thing I do like about the wand is that it's handy for quick pick ups. For example, when you're vacuuming the carpet and you see some crumbs under something or in a corner, you can whip the wand out quickly, without even putting the vacuum upright, and get into tight spaces.

I also agree about the hose, I do wish Sebo would add a full stair stretch hose, so there'd be no need for the extension hose, but at least the option is there for the extension hose.

Personally, I'd like to see Sebo introduce an entry model with manual height adjustment, the basic tools and hose and then have the Automatic machines as the higher end, with a stretch hose onboard and additional tools.

There will only be an argument if someone makes one. So far, this is a perfectly reasonable, calm discussion of both positives and negatives of a cleaner. Just as it should be. Everything has it's pro's and con's, it's interesting to see that discussed on a mature, rational level.

I suggest if anyone starts getting argumentative, we ignore it.
