I see my scan of the Owners Manual didnt show up so I will try again. Do you know where I might be able to buy one?

Not an original one,

But I'd be more than happy to scan the one I have to send you, The only issue is that I won't be able to get to my Kenmore for who knows how long. If you still haven't found one by then, I'll be happy to scan mine.

They do come on eBay rarely, but usually the bidding goes high. If no one here has one, I'd recommend trying thrift stores and yard sales, and especially estate sales. These are probably my most wanted vacuum, but I have been unsuccessful finding one.

The one on your manual cover is the mid range model (the attachments store in a compartment under that dark colored (green) cover. The Top of Line Sears Best model like Alex' in the photo above stores the attachments in a tray that can fit on top, or inside over the dust bag.

I love mine!

I wouldn't think to sell it, As said above Ebay is always a start, try craigslists and such. I'm sure one will come your way eventually, and if not this model, Sears had an entire range of slightly lower-end versions of this model!

Not for mine,

But if you're that desperate for such a Kenmore, I could have sworn seeing one in a near-by vacuum shop. I'll pop in there and see if it's still there. If I may, why is it you're interested in the purchase of a 1970s Kenmore Canister in Avocado and wood-grain?

Mu business partner and I borrowed a vacuum like this 25 years ago to start a janitorial business from my partners Mom. We are having a 25th anniversary celebration and we wanted to find a vacuum like it to use in our presentation at our celebration. We now have about 475 employees and operate in 4 states. Worse case we will just have to use a picture.

Kenmore & smomurph (??? David ???)...

Hello David,

Welcome to the forum.

Does it (Kenmore) have to be green? Or would a blue one (same era) be acceptable?

If a blue one would be acceptable, feel free to send me an email (in my profile).

If you're NOT interested, anyone else who is, also feel free to contact me.

Cheers & hagd/n all,

Bill

Super, I would like it to run and it will be used as a display piece in our corporate office.

Kirbyman, I really appreciate it but we are really hoping to find one like the one we used which was the green with the wood grain. We have the actual manual posted above.

Sears canister

I have many Sears from 50s to 70s but not sure if I had this until today when looking for AirWay part.I do have a green 'Sears Best' with woodgrain that may be the one. Will have to move about 10 vacs in front of to read ser no.Power Mate that I may also have would be in different location. If you don't find elsewhere this may be it.That and many Sears do need new homes!
