Eureka S250A

I am not sure if everything on this is original to an S250A(metal handle, dump bag, etc). I have been told this was pieced together. Finished it last night!

I agree; in fact, it seems to me that some floor & surface care appliance companies have mimicked the car industry's period colors, model names, and customer options. That may also be true for other appliance manufacturers.

The only difference I have been able to find between the S250 and S250A Super Automatics is that the latter was factory-equipped with the disposable bag assembly; whereas it had been a customer option when Eureka introduced paper bags in 1949. The S250 was shipped from the factory from October 1949 to March 1951, and the S250A from April 1951 to July 1955. No wonder I have never seen a photo of an S250; only ad illustrations.

I really don’t think that is a Eureka 250 upright. It is definitely the newer 1960’s Super Automatic 260 with a jammed in old unmatching hose port cover from an older 250. Someone must have lost the original blue or green hose port cover and some repair shop rejigged an older cover to fit the newer vacuum.

That was my first thought too, the trim on a late 1950s car.

Just to clarify what I meant: the Eureka with the brown bag in the first photos is a 250. The Eureka with the blue/green bag in the second set of photos is a 260 with an old 250 brandplate hose port cover instead of the newer plastic 260 hose port cover.
