I love the looks of those older eureka machines. They look like a car from the time.
I agree; in fact, it seems to me that some floor & surface care appliance companies have mimicked the car industry's period colors, model names, and customer options. That may also be true for other appliance manufacturers.
 
The only difference I have been able to find between the S250 and S250A Super Automatics is that the latter was factory-equipped with the disposable bag assembly; whereas it had been a customer option when Eureka introduced paper bags in 1949. The S250 was shipped from the factory from October 1949 to March 1951, and the S250A from April 1951 to July 1955. No wonder I have never seen a photo of an S250; only ad illustrations.
