    1952 Vac-U-Tronic Vacuum Tester

Wow...small world I'm so excited! I just bought one of these off ebay. Except it has a carrying case and is split into two units;one for the vacuum suction test and one for the amp draw test. I don't know what that means....if it's older or newer. Seller had a terrible feedback rating, but I...

Eelctrolux Diamond Jubliee and Power Nozzle

I bought a new DJ around '84/'85 and yes, it was the PN5 and in the greige color scheme. Then we bought a Sidekick as soon as it came out. In a couple of yrs, we got an education on how to take care of a LUX hose...first one got frayed. Motor eventually went out on the DJ...Sidekick kept...

    What if ?

Don't... think as said, there's enough market to justify 'factory' production. However, there are boutique enterprises dotting America that make exorbitantly high priced items to capitalize on the Baby Boomers with funds. For example on a large scale, cruiser motorcycles made a comeback like no...

    electrolux hose

Or.... you can use 'crystal clear' heat shrink tubing to seal the entire hose forever. Probably no stiffer than the new LUX hoses.....   Kevin

    Rare Electrolux hose

I like...... the idea of heat shrink tubing in 'crystal clear' finish to repair these old hoses as one member suggested. It beats the latex method, but won't address connection problems. I always just replace with a new LUX hose for function....but the originals are eye-openers...especially...

    Lux "automatic" G help

The bumpers are a bit tricky and easy to shear the little end tabs off. Then you have a useless bumper that will have to be super glued etc. The G motors are great; just usually needing the stators polished/re-grooved, new brushes and bearings. Unless it's been forced to run with bad bearings...

    Tan Electrolux Model G

That.... was a very common hose replacement by probably a LUX store or salesman. My first G hose was configured the same and the LUX store did it to replace the OE hose. The easy way to tell the later G motor from the earlier is by the brush holder color. Wow....I'd be looking to replace that...

    Vintage rental carpet shampooers

@Erik: I have no idea, but it looked remarkably like the one at the beginning of this thread. I'm not insinuating that they were bad machines. It could have been the house wiring or just a particular machine that someone else busted. But truthfully, it was a hell of a shock standing on a wet...

Some of Nathan's Latest Thrift Store Finds

<a name="start_18672.205407">GASP!!!! my god i want one</a>   Now Evan, calm down a bit.   Thrift store finds seem to be a function of what was sold in a particular area. I.e., if the area was strong with Kirby or LUX salesmen, for example. If not, people went elsewhere to find good vacs...

    Interesting Auction of Old Machines

I... live in Walla Walla as a matter of fact. This place is up at our airport...there used to be a military base here and now they rent what's left of the buildings to businesses. It's a real rat's nest up there, but I know where this auction house is located. Sometimes it's a formal auction...

Extremely RARE ComVac on craigslist for $25

I've.... bought items out of state before on craigslist. Often with issues however. If you read their policy, they advise against it....so you have to convince the seller you're not a scammer. And the only way you can really do that is to send a PO Money Order, not a cashier's check, not a bank...

    Another G...

Thanks.... for the info, Jimmy. All the parts are for sale or trade. The shampoo head is nice, but other than an adornment accessory, I'll never use it. The Rexair floor brushes should go to the guys that collect that and the same with the AirWay brushes.    The G's I have, never had that...

    Another G...

Hard.... to imagine the history on this unit. I get a feeling the seller lucked into it, inherited it etc along with that box of parts. My best G was found at a junk store up in the 'vacuum room'.  They didn't give it away, but whomever the PO was,  they took fantastic care of it.  I don't...

    Another G...

Finally.... another shot of the G.  The stickers turned out to be; owner's name and address, yellow one was too faded. Probably a repair sticker at one time?   Kevin

    Another G...

Well.... I finally got the G. Really weird seller and weird condition G. It runs, but the cord is seriously dangerous. The seller hid the warts for sure; dent on the bottom and only two good wheel-the ones they pictured. But then there's the really weird part. There was a box next to the G in...

Filter Queen saved from the trash.

His ..... original pic had '<a name="start_18540.204506"></a><a name="start_18540.204362"><strong>applique' written all over it. But now that I think of it, there are lots of printers out there duplicating original print stickers like that. But...it gets sticky with copyrighted stuff; some...
