I just had a very exciting idea.

What if.......the Aerus Lux company came out with a new Lux that is named xxx and had the best of both worlds.

The looks of the original beautiful Lux model xxx on the outside; and modern technology on the inside.

What do you think of that SPECIFIC idea?

That would be great, just as it would be if Hoover remade the Senior - but unfortunately it doesn't look like it'll happen.

But then again, the Constellation did make a come back so anything is possible.

The XXX would be the one to copy due to it's status as a masterpiece of mid-20th century machine age design, but isn't that what they basically DID do? The Platinum looks quite similar to the art deco machine age and looks very nice to me and most others. I think they did a remarkable job of managing to look simultaneously modern and vintage.

Will Retro sell?

Just drive by a VW dealer!I think this idea on a lux would be great.I feel the new Hoover Constellation and Eureka Retro Vac upright never had a fraction of the promotion and display they deserved. But when the Hoover Z was in Sears they had signs on the floor, posters on the wall and POP displays!Go figure.

Or

Combine the vw iconicness with the Lux xxx iconicness and market the two ... Experience the retro vw and experience the retro Lux xxx

Or something like this. Somehow. I think the two products and experiences with each of them could feed from each other.

Any other open ideas you may want to add to this ?

I agree mainly collectors would buy.

It is a great idea. But there might not be enough market to make a profit, much less make back the cost of manufacture. I wish they would bring back the Eldorado and Riviera in a retro look, downsized with current systems and matched Electroli in the trunk, but I might be the only one to buy them. It would be nice to have a NEW "Electrolux" with retro styling that is well made and STURDY with a trade in incentive like " trade in your broken plastic wheel for $400 off the new Electrolux ". Let's build a factory Brad. :)

Thanks Christopher !

It's more of a midnight teal blue and turquoise, and it's one of the best color combinations they ever did. Love my 1205. :)

I couldn't agree more. I'd love to see the personal luxury coupe make a comeback besides the Cadillac CTS coupe. IMHO when Buick introduced the all-new 1995 Buick Riviera they made it so butt-ugly almost as if they wanted it to have a hasty demise. I really hope some vac manufacturer comes out with a retro-inspired model soon. The new Constellation was wonderful, and ended all too soon with the TTI takeover. I was hoping to see a retro Dial-A-Matic or a new Celebrity. Imagine if the new connie had a finger-tip on/off switch in the hose like the model 87?

Don't...

think as said, there's enough market to justify 'factory' production. However, there are boutique enterprises dotting America that make exorbitantly high priced items to capitalize on the Baby Boomers with funds. For example on a large scale, cruiser motorcycles made a comeback like no other and still going strong since the 90's. Another example are custom made road bicycles.....yet another would be custom turntables.

I'm all for it, but it should be a 'start production as you get a substantial deposit' enterprise....or you will soon fail. Gotta have a slick website and a dedicated, glib PR person.
