I'm VERY blessed to have the TAN model G.

How rare are the tan ones?

The vent cap is still intact; most AF, R, G & L Electrolux vacs that I've seen are missing the vent cap or broken.

A recent eBay find

I am waiting for the Rug Washer, which also includes the original box.

The ONLY thing missing is the crevice tool in tan.

The combo tools, PN, PN wand & hose are all in good shape. However, the rubber "donut" of the combo dusting brush/upholstery tool is dried out; I hope it doesn't start to crack!

One of the aluminum wands has a dent, is there a way I can fix it?

I'm surprised that the cloth hose doesn't leak at all.

Even the Automatic Control works good.

I think the G is QUIETER than the L or 1205, I. M. O.

Cool find

The tan model g has a stronger motor than the turquoise g. I think they have the same wattage though, but still the tan one is stronger.

Great vac in amazing condition!!This is not the Hospital version that would have flat rectangular flter at rear that helped filtration but somewhat spoiled looks.It sold well but for a shorter time(1967-68) than the previous Gs that makes them harder to find.The hose is replaced,possibly from CB??The power nozzle wand seems to be the one piece metal that was recalled for possible safety issues.They were to be changed to a plastic elbow if seen at an Elux service department.Yours may have never been seen for service as it seems to remain low milage.Under extreme use and abuse or with improper repairs there was a chance of a wire making contact with a metal surface and shorting out.I have heard of this only once in many years.The cord clip is left over from the original 50s design when an Automatic Elux could have cord wrap.The rug washer is from at least 1974 with gold color.The only difference for tan G would be color of top and possible painted elbow.This allowed the G to do everythig in the manner of a Kirby with atts and shampooer if customer did not want separate B-8.The G was one of the greats which many prefer to 1205 and others.Many features were the best of that or possibly any era such as gear belt,automatic control,4 ply self sealing filter bag,cordwinder,quiet operation and more.Happy vacuuming

That....

was a very common hose replacement by probably a LUX store or salesman. My first G hose was configured the same and the LUX store did it to replace the OE hose. The easy way to tell the later G motor from the earlier is by the brush holder color. Wow....I'd be looking to replace that PN wand with a tan one of the two/three piece variety.
