    Central vacuum recommendations.

Not being a fan of central vacuums, I would recommend a high end canister. Central vacuums are not all they are cracked up to be. Lugging a 30 foot hose around, getting caught on furniture, like other have stated it seems to have good air flow but the hose length lessons its productivity. I...

    found a kirby !

I bought that model new when it came out. Traded in my Kirby tradition. Love the machine. Yours will polish up nicely. A new stiff brush roll will improve it performance.

    Help in identifying Electrolux

That is a beautiful machine. Looking at the pictures you are missing three things. There should be a metal round dusting brush, a metal upholstery tool and a card board crevice tool. Which I am told was not always sold with the machine as some dealers felt the crevice tool was hard on the...

Barely Used Hoover Windtunnel Stretch Hose 20fT Find!

A cool piece of history but all of those stretch hoses are worthless. The minute the suction or air flow is reduced the machine tips over. This is not just for Hoover but all the modern plastic machines. Just my humble opinion.

    Shark is best???

I find that Shark vacuums do clean fairly well. And the tools provided are not bad, not good but not as bad as some of the competition. For me, keeping all those filters clean is a chore. If they would make a vacuum with good HEPA bags they would have a decent vacuum. I hear many say they...

    Possibly rare Electrolux hose question

What a great find! And it even has some bags which are pretty rare. I have only seen one of those machines and I forget which convention I was at. The newer metal tank CA were awesome machines. The late run of them were plastic and I actually like those better. To have a hose like that...

Do you remember your household vacs?

My list is pretty short: My Mom had a Kirby 508, which I still use today. It was factory rebuilt in the late 90's and still runs like a top. My grandmother had a Model 66 Airway canister. Her sister, had a Hoover Model 28 and a Hoover Junior. Our neighbors had a Eureka Princess with the...

Royal Commercial 662 with red shake out bag

Those were awesome machines! As teenager I worked as a custodian at the school during the school year for two hours before school started and then full time during the summer. We had those Royal Machines badged as HILD if my memory serves me correctly. Those machines ran flawlessly for years...

Barry, Those should work fine. The Sears brand is expensive, I get them off ebay and I think I it the DVC brand. Seem to be as good. Morgan

    Eureka 200 Series

Very Interesting. I live in Dubuque Iowa and the Telegraph Herald is our Local Newspaper. Hoover was not as popular in our area as Eureka. We saw mainly, Kirby, Electrolux, Eureka, Airway, Kenmore and Filter Queen. I remember very well the Eureka Vacuum displays at our Kmart. I have a model...

    Why not Electrolux?

    Finally got an Electrikbroom

That is a great looking Regina. Almost everyone I knew owned one at one point in time. As far as them not be a great cleaner, I would disagree. They did an excellent job at what they were intended for. Remember, most kitchens in that time frame may have had kitchen carpet. They were awesome...
