My recent restoration, Hoover Junior Dirt Searcher. According to its serial number, was produced in February 1970, I think it is an early example of Dirt Searcher. When I bought, it was not working due to the problem with the on/off switch. I repaired the original switch because Hoover Junior is very rare in Turkey and I didn't have any spare parts. The motor was in good condition, I just cleaned and oiled the bearings. The outer bag was quite dirty due to use without inner bag!, but after hand washing, it looks quite good for a 54 year old bag. In general, detailed cleaning was done, cleaning and greasing bearings of the roller, a new original paper dust bag and a new belt were installed, and the burnt out bulb was replaced. The suppression capacitor, which is not found in domestic production models (for Turkey) has been disabled to avoid surprises when using it, I know it can explode and produce smoke and smell. Used rubbing compound on base and handle, retrobrite the lens only.

Unfortunately I don't have the tools for this one. Hose connection is different, not a pan converter. When you take off the blue cap off then you can place the connector for hose, which disengages the belt.
